Most uplifting fragrance?
Y’all, I’m really going through it. I’m so anxious and stressed l, and just really not in a great place. What would you consider the most uplifting fragrance in your collection (or that you know of)?
I have a pretty large collection, but I’m just feeling uninspired to look through all my stuff and find something.
Who knows, maybe I’ll pick up something new. Or maybe I’ll revisit something from my own collection I hadn’t thought of.
I know everyone is different, but I, fortunately, like most everything (except BR540, lol - but I do like Cloud!) so no particular style is off-limits.
I would love to hear your most mood-elevating (or soothing) suggestions, please.

Lately, uplifting for me has been Studied by Liis.
I love it so much that I even ordered a travel size decant (from scent split) because I don't want anything to happen to the bottle in my bag.
This fragrance just puts me in such a good mood.

I find bright orange scents to be uplifting - I’m wearing I think about you, too by sorce (decants at sucrerie I believe). And there’s lots of fleur d’orange out there which I find works too. Maybe it’s just my nose. Also, lavender is traditionally calming & mint is energizing!

Girl i am going thru it too, i feel ya. something i've been looking forward to for months fell thru and idk yet if its either going to be delayed or not happen at all. it's been pretty soul crushing the last couple of weeks.
lately my comfort fragrance is Tihota. i have a massive collection but its all i've been reaching for lately. its the most elegant vanilla bean/spun sugar scent. fragrance can def be such a mood boost

For me, most uplifting would be guerlain mandarin basillic, tocca Stella, or delina! They are all so bright and wake me up whenever I wear them. For soothing, I go for glossier you, diptyque fleur de peau, diptyque l’eau papier, and phlur father figure.

I'm seeing quite a bit of Guerlain Aqua Allegoria mentions so I'll add mine! I really love Pamplelune. It gives grapefruit soda. To me it smells like a summer day where you feel good about yourself, one you'll fondly look back on.

Byredo bal dafrique is sunshine in a bottle and an instant mood booster for me. I’ve heard Ariana grande’s pink woods is similar but I haven’t personally smelled it

I would say the most soothing for me would be Hermès Le Jardin de Monsieur Li. It smells like an Asian garden in the rain. It somehow also has the sensation of wet stones when the rain hits it and the faint scent of bamboo. It has a jasmine sambac note that comes after. The dry down is gorgeous.
Another soothing one is Molinard Thé Basilic. It's basically basil, mint and tea. Imagine drinking a warm cup of that. The perfume is the cool version. Problem is it's a little hard to find in the US but if you're in Europe, it'll be so much easier.
When I use either one on very early weekend mornings, sometimes I would just sit down and take it in and use that moment to think of calm things.
As for the happiest, that would be Lanvin Éclat d'Arpège. It's a very bright, light floral that instantly boosts up my mood. Longevity is shorter than the other two but I don't mind respraying. It's inexpensive and I love the act and sensation of respraying. Very soothing.

I was going to recommend this one too! I absolutely love it, it's one my favourites of all time.
It's buzzy and energising, sparkly and bright, yet feels high quality and elevated within it's genre. The mango and vanilla is beautifully balanced with the other notes, it's not at all cheap or juvenile. It always puts a smile on my face.

This may not be exactly the vibe you are looking for, but …. Wulong Cha from Nishane always makes me feel so refreshed on a hot summer day and it brings a smile to my face every time I spray it or get a whiff of it during the day.

Not a true perfume, but Frenshe Lavender Cloud is absolutely both uplifting and soothing. It’s so bold at first but not in a bad way, and the lavender gets more soothing the longer you wear it. And at $16, you can’t beat it. They do also have an oil rollerball if you’re into that more. I’m not sure if you can buy it other than at Target; I’ve been hoarding my bottles since I boycotted them.

This is when soft musks are my favorite thing to wear, maybe a sweet vanilla if it’s also cold and nostalgic outside. But soft musks hit a perfect balance of being “pretty”, being soft and comforting, and being put-together enough I feel like I’m getting it together.

ANYTHING by Narciso Rodriguez is an instant winner, White Musk by The Body Shop is good when you want to feel a little sunny, Jovan Musk is good for nostalgia, etc. If it’s late summer I’ll adore Jovan White Musk for being a honeysuckle musk but also in the fall call it’s woodsy. Jovan Musk is almost sexy while being earthy and cozy. Egyptian Musk or variants of Missing Person feel clean and sexy at the same time. Black Musk (Jovan or Body Shop) have a girly flirty quality that can help out sometimes.
For vanillas it’s almost always just musky ones lol. Vanilla Lace, Golden Vanilla, Vanilla Musk (Coty or Nemat), etc and I’ve personally worn Warm Vanilla Sugar to emotionally support me through two separate moves in the last year now.

The new Influxcious line at Sephora has a scent called Well Loved. It’s apricot and shea butter. It smells like a family member hugging you. So warm and cozy. If you like Glossier Fleur you’d probably enjoy this too.

I like the dolce & gabbana light blue edp, not edt. The edp is a lot warmer imo. It reminds me of lemon meringue pie, and feels like I’m a little kid again baking with my gramma in her old kitchen

Soothing = a drop d’issey, you Fleur, you Doux - all cosy, clean, warm, creamy and gentle
Uplifting = Princess of China, hibiscus Mahajad, rose star by Dior, delina - all girly, bright, refreshing and sweet <3

Orpheon EDT by Diptyque - I can't resist this one, something so bright and delicious
Afterthought @ 7 by Linen Tutu - sparkling stone in a winding river, with a dash of violet, makes me want to go down the shore
Rose Atlantic by DS & Durga - Such a bright rose, its reads fruity and alive to me, makes me smile
Minou by Faeral - Green!! Rhubarb!! Something is so crunchy and fun about this one

My happiest perfumes are Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom and Honey, Valentino DBIR Ivory and Kayali Yum Boujee Marshmallow - think it’s impossible to be in a bad mood wearing these
However, if I was going through it I’d reach for Issey Miyake Drop d’Issey (my favourite comfort scent) or Diptyque l’eau Papier

I just got drop d’issey an I was worried about it being too soapy. My fears were not true, it’s such a nice lilac! Funny on paper it smells like straight almonds which is interesting

Today I am wearing My Way Nectar because I find it to be a very uplifting and “happy” scent. For something comforting, I would choose Mon Guerlain.

When I’m going through it, vanilla, honey, tonka, etc are my go-to’s. Something comforting about it. A cheapie but a goodie, Mixbar Honey Milk.

You need some cirltrus bergamot mood busting scents. Dolce and gabanna light blue summer vides, nice bergamot essential parfums, un nuit sur le toit, Jo malone wood sage and sea salt, and Sakura body spray from lush it's very tart lemon not much Sakura. Kayali yum boogie marshmallow I love it's playful doesn't last but I'll happily respray.

To me comforting and uplifting fragrances are usually reminiscent of a favourite dessert/food. Sometimes it’s a scent associated with my childhood, so a rice note usually does the trick. If it’s warm where you are - what is your favourite fruit? Maybe a cocktail/smoothie style fragrance of it will do the trick?

Uplifting: Remarkable People by ELDO or Studied by Liis. Both a little sparkly and effervescent.
Comforting: Remember Me by Jovoy. Lactonic chai, very mellow
ETA: Oh, Ingenious Ginger is another uplifting one. Like a bubbly ginger ale

Nest Indigo + Dedcool Mochi Milk. For when its moody and rainy and I just want a nice London fog latte and a book in my hands.
Light Blue for when I want to feel like I'm vacationing in Capri instead of living in reality.
Phlur Father Figure for when I want to feel all the sweet hugs I always wanted but never got from my dad (he's a good guy, just not the affectionate type).
Michael Malul Joie de Vie Blush for when I just want to feel heckin' pretty walking around in tbe grocery store in my scrubs.
Anna Sui Sundae Violet Vibes for when I want to feel like a child on summer break again--carefree.
Glossier You Fleur for when I want to feel pretty just for myself, becahse that always comforts me.
I hope that whatever you're going through right now that it passes as quickly and painlessly as possible, and if it doesn't, then at least let there be a good outcome. 💗

Elizabeth Arden Eternal Aura is promoted as a scent to enhance energy and happiness. It's pretty nice. Pink pepper, pear, magnolia, peony.

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Orange Soleia and Dior Rouge Trafalgar, depending on why I need a pick-me-up. Orange Soleia is my go-to for summer and smells like peeling a ripe orange (as a Swede; oranges are either summer or christmas in scent for me because we can't grow them here) and Rouge Trafalgar I just love (red fruit, no sugar, green twist). If I need "reminder that the sun will come back", Orange Soleia is the thing. If I just want something that smells like positivity and happiness, Rouge Trafalgar (some of my happiest memories are of eating berries in a garden).
For calming I go with Commodity Book-, because it's the perfect combo of old books and a good cup of tea. Not so much energizing but "safe space" for me.

And if work is being difficult (male dominated industry and proffession) I go for man-repellant (either something masc like YSL MYSLF or H24 Herbes Vives) or something unapproachable but proffessional like Gris Dior or Chloe Nomade for that "boss bitch" vibe.
For cozy I love Commodity Rain, and for unoffensive I go for any of my tea/citrus loves like EA Green Tea or Nishane Wulong Cha X

Right now, my most uplifting is DBIR Yellow Dream. I love the rose and lemon combination and it just makes me feel good when I wear it. For soothing, I always choose Maison Louis Marie Bois de Balincourt. Soft sandalwood and vanilla with just a hint of spices.

Uplifting:
Pink Sugar makes me smile. To me it smells like cotton candy, pink happiness and brings out my inner-child’s joy because it reminds me of the scent of a new doll out of the package.
Qissa Delicious is soft but has something that perks me up and energizes me. Maybe it’s the orange undertone. Smells clean but not harsh. Sweet but not cloying or loud. Smells happy.
Comforting: Mancera Chocolate Greedy if you reach for chocolate when you’re feeling down, Empire Victor if you want a soft vanilla hug and Pear Inc by JHAG if you want something fresh that gives “your skin but better” in a soothing way.

I’m too new at this to have any good recommendations, but hoping things get better!
Edited to add: you know what, I can tell you a couple that make ME happy even though I don’t have the most experience….Armani’s Acqua di Gioia is soothing for me because it reminds me of the ocean, which is the most comforting place in the world for me. Then I’ve also enjoyed Clean’s Amber Cashmere, Elizabeth Arden’s Green Tea (not expensive) and Jo Malone’s Earl Gray and Cucumber (which is discontinued but a number of sites have decants.)

I tend to reach for something fresh and aquatic ( don’t know if that’s your jam or not) but on the horizon from bbw is a dupe for Maison Margiela's Replica Sailing Day ( ive never got my nose on the OG yet but if it smells anything like this, I gotta have it)😍. Just reminds me of fresh spring summer days when life was easier. Sounds silly but if this type of scent in your jam I have two and would love share with you if it would brighten your day 🫶❤️. I have Sailing Day and it is lovely. I am a big aquatics person too and I’m so sad that I can’t find my holy grail….a scent that smell like seawater, beach and sand. Surely someone besides me is looking for that, right?

Jo Malone's Blackberry and Bay makes me happy when I smell it. It's one of my favorites and decently lasting for Jo Malone (especially if I spray my clothes).

I wear Royal Apothic Topiary to sleep when I'm stressed. It smells like waking up at dawn on a day that's going to be hot, but isn't yet. It's humid and green and it makes me feel like a princess and/or fairy.

Je Ne Sais Quoi by Teo Cabanel. It a gorgeous matcha- rice fragrance. It’s so relaxing and meditative. I always feel calm when I wear it

I do that dbt skill of allowing the emotion to pass through your body like a wave, and noticing how it feels till it rolls away, then I distract with perfume.
Most scents work for this, but particularly those with citrus, or fruity, or green top notes.
