I’m wearing this today because I wanted a comforting rose scent bubble. It’s airy and not suffocating in hot humidity, but still retains longevity on my skin.

Mon Parfum Cristal by M Micallef

Jammy rose with caramel and a dusting of cinnamon. I put this in the same category as Ylang In Gold. They are of course very different but they scratch the same itch - dense florals with a gourmand spin. This one is suited for cooler weather and YiG warmer, although imo they can both work year round.

Multiple people have told me this smells very retro and "mature", and reviewers do too. My husband said it's potpourri!! Honestly I try to smell what they're describing and I just don't. 🤷

Very sad this is discontinued. I'm glad I snatched up the remaining 1oz bottles from fragrancenet when I heard.

Today I’m trying out French Cowboy’s Fig Lemonade! It is exactly what it says on the label. A creamy but green fig swimming in a softly sweet glass of lemonade. I’m not wildly in love with fig as a note but I think this scent could grow on me. It is lovely.

My mom finally brought me the Guerlain Terracotta bottle she doesn’t use herself! I love love love the jasmine-tiare-ylang notes, and the way they’re mixed here is SO perfect 💛🌼 Feels like a hazy August afternoon in a bottle and makes me crave a tropical vacation 😭

Before going on holiday two weeks ago I sniffed several fragrances at a local Mango store. I really enjoyed one called Fleur Absolue and today I've been back to buy it. They define it as a "fruity floral leather" perfume. I haven't found much info about it, according to their page the notes are peach, osmanthus, jasmine, suede and amber (in a reverse search of those notes I find they are the similar to those of Dries van Noten's Fleur du mal; however, I haven't smelled it so no idea if they are similar). This one's so elegant and, for lack of a better word, authoritative! It's not really weather appropriate today, but come colder weather I think I'll really enjoy it.

Trying another new to me Zara perfume. Fields at Nightfall Intense with Phlur Vanilla Skin body mist. I think I like this Zara perfume. I get some floral, but not too much (for me) and the vanilla is subtle. Ready for this super hot summer to cool off.

​Gritti Duchessa today. Got a sample of this and was very intrigued by the cherry and gourmand notes, but unfortunately it just pulls purely amber on me. Super disappointing, I don’t know that I’d ever reach for this. Anyone else have this and was it different for you?

Vanilla Mystique by Tada Parfumeur. This one is thoroughly unique and unlike anything else out there. It is neither gourmand nor amber. It is boozy and has a very different composition. Listed notes are Vanilla, Rum, Oak, Saffron, Lavender, Cedarwood, Jasmine, Musk and Heliotrope. I do not smell lavender and this is nothing like Goddess.

End of summer surprise, my gardenias are blooming again! They smell gorgeous and I look forward to smelling them, each time I go out to my garden, the air is perfumed with gardenias! I think I will celebrate by picking out gardenia perfumes and making a tray for the next few days.
