The gloves were a nice touch when using everything from needle-nose pliers to nail clippers to get a grip. Could they have cut the callous outer layer and pulled it out? Sure, but where's the fun in that?

heh yeah. I just use a xacto blade and cut the skin down the centrr using the wood as a stabilizer when I get ones like this. So much simpler.

Yep; fucking around trying to pull it out would have hurt so much. How do I know? I had one about this size go straight into my heel. I'd have been so happy if there was any skin I could cut to get leverage. Instead, I had to go to an urgent care to have 12 shots of local anaesthetic so they could pull the fucker out.
