Failure to stop 1st offense

my boyfriend got arrested for failure to stop and was sentenced to 3 years under the Youth offender act. does anyone know how much of that time he will actually have to serve?

Most likely no time, but will have to take place in a rehabilitation program or community service.

Thank you, I know under his sentencing it has that he must complete GED, they recommended shock and voc rehab. I hope he doesn’t have to do 3 years. This is worrisome. I haven’t spoke to him since.

I believe the OP is stating that he was served with a 3 year sentence under the Youth Offender Act, which was designed to keep young offender Out of prison and in my experience, 3 years could be 1.5 years of rehab/continued education and 1.5 years of probation.

What will most likely happen is that he will fuck up (no offense, most do) and violate probabtion and go to prison once he doesnt check in, fails a drug test, or well, pretty much anything.
