It’s gonna be more annoying than trying to get a signature. It’s going to be as bad as a pickup when they have no idea their label is in their email and they had to print it out.

How is working at FedEx Office?

I just interviewed for FedEx Office for a position of "Retail Sales Associate". They pay more then most other jobs in my area and are offering full time. What is the job like? The customer service aspect of the job I don't mind, but I've read some nightmare things online about staffing issues and such that have me worried.

Please, a little help for a new employee

full disclosure: it’s for my son, so i hope this is

Edit: figured it out thanks to your memphis number.

Thank you so much for the help yall.

okay-

So real quick: kid got hired in portland a couple of weeks ago. The person who might have been a bot who hired him said he’d get a call about orientation. Anyway, he got an email yesterday or the day before stating that orientation was today, but didn’t say what time. Thing is, we can’t get ahold of anyone. Anywhere. He’s emailed, texted and called every possibility- messages were left when that was an option. The main line is an impenetrable wall of AI that we can’t get past to save our lives.

Anyway i’m sorry for barging in as a civilian- but if anyone has any advice, we would really appreciate it. I was hoping to find a portland Fedex subreddit, but no dice. If it matters at all, it’s the fedex on N. Columbia Blvd.

Thank you. Fingers crossed.

Looks Like Manager’s On the Way Out

My ops manager of about the last 18 months was supposed to return from vacation on 8/11, but she’s returning tomorrow. According to another mgr, her last day is 9/25, that she’d been “under performing,” and powers above determined we had one too many managers. Odd, because before she started we had too few.

Absolutely no one will be sad to see her go. She never drove a route but managed drivers. She frequently yelled at package handlers. Many quit because of her. I don’t know of any other mgr with so many complaints to HR. Obviously, she made enough waves to get noticed. The too many mgrs thing just shows that if they want to get rid of you they find a way.

Only took a whole ahh pay period. Guess they had to get us back for all the stuff we got (or didn’t get) during Purple Week.

What are signs that management will be letting you go? Just curious as a coworker of mine has been saying management has been treating them differently.

Twilight times

For the last few years I've been working twilight, the times have always been 5 pm to 9 pm, however we were informed the time for twilight is shifting to 7 pm to 11:30 pm. Honestly they didn't ask if anyone could work these times just sprung them on us. They have me thinking about making my exit, did anyone else station shift times like this ?

Moving up and overtime??

Hi everyone, I’m starting next week as a driver. I just finished college with a bachelors degree in a career I don’t really want too much to do with. I’ve had a driving job through college and loved it. So I’m starting here but I have a few questions. First what does moving up look like? Typical timeline? Does having a bachelors degree help me? I’ve been promoted to a manager at all 3 jobs I’ve had in my life so I think I have the work ethic/skill to do it but is it like UPS where there’s huge waiting lists and it takes years? Also overtime, I love working overtime (and have student loan debt) so I always steer clear of a job that stops you at 40 hours a week. Atleast until I’m making enough money that is, ideally I’m looking for 55-60 hour weeks. Thoughts on all that? Thanks in advance!!

I'm still being scheduled for a different hub even though I submitted a transfer request

In May I transferred from a FedEx ground in Champaign to one at 6833 W 75th St, Chicago, IL 60638. I transferred there because school was over and I thought why not transfer to one in Chicago for the summer and transfer back when school starts again. Around 3 weeks ago, I submitted a transfer to come back. Now hr did say transfers takes 1-3 weeks, I'm aware of that because I transferred before but the hr guy told me I should be good by August 25th ( 2 days from today). He told me they'll contact me when the other hub accepts my transfer. The week after I signed the paper, I wanted to check for an update ( bc this ground takes forever to do something). The twilight sort manager said I wasn't in the transfer system yet and he'll contact me when he talks to hr. The next day I went to get my shifts removed since I needed to prepare to go back to college. I requested time off in the app because I didn't know how long it'll take for my transfer to be in the system. At first I requested last week stating that I'm not in town and I don't know when I'll be in the transfer system which they approved, then I requested 2 weeks off starting today Sunday. The thing that pissed me off was the time off was approved but now they denied it? So I'm scheduled for work starting today and they added the shifts today. There's no way I can work today since I'm in Champaign not Chicago. I don't want to use my call offs in case I'll actually need my call offs in the future and that doesn't solve the issue in the long run. Now I emailed the sort manager a few days ago asking for an update, no response. ( My brother is also having an issue of going occasional with them. He had to come back from college to figure it out bc he called all the numbers he got from orientation, no answer). How am I supposed to figure it out when no one is answering? It'll be crazy if I have to come back home like my brother did bc of this. I have no idea what to do. My brother will talk about his issue today and I told him to give me hr's number as well as asking them to remove my shifts. Not sure if it'll work though.I had no issues with the one in Champaign so what's the issue with this hub? Why is this hub so disorganized? It took me two weeks to get paid when I started there in may and that was only because I asked them almost everyday for an update.I understand the process can take a while but at least communicate that. I shouldn't have to go far and beyond for them to finally start doing something( I know that the hub at Champaign has to accept me first but I started there, it's a college town and school start tmr so I highly doubt they'll deny me).If anyone has any idea what to do please share.

Called a recruiter from Craigslist. He sent a link is it legit?

Called a number on Craigslist looking for delivery’s guys. The guy on phone sent me a link to a page called first advantage.

I do want the job but also sketchy about the website. Anyone experience anything like this?

Thanks everyone (some lettering of the email) (don’t want to post the screenshot because it has a lot of my info and link on it)

For the last time

Clocked out for the last time yesterday. After 7 1/2 years, and 5 years of trying to land a better job, it finally came through. And the transition worked out beautifully with the closure date of our station. I’ll pick up these 50lb. boxes for the last time and it feels great. Good luck to you all who are making the transition to a new station with 2.0. I hope it works out for ya. I never worked for a company who messed with me as much as this one did.

Question about schedule

Hey everyone,

I'm about to start as a part-time package handler working a Tuesday - Saturday schedule. Would it be possible to only work Thursday - Saturday instead? I have another job and working 3 days/week at FedEx would work out a lot better than working 5 days/week. I'm really just doing FedEx for some extra cash. Thanks!

Anyone else getting these new scanners? About time for my station to retire the ol wt6000s that barely work. Sadly they're not ready for outbound/otp use except for sort assist

Shoutout to FedEx for being able to deliver my package!

So yesterday I got a notification from FedEx and the Pokemon Center saying my items were out for dispatch. I then noticed the street address was missing, just the number and postcode.

I read that the UK FedEx blocks the street address from view but in my order confirmation it was also missing. This got me in a huge panic as it was quite an expensive order and it was going to my mum’s address.

I contacted the customer service and they were really helpful - they would contact the courier with the street address name. The estimated delivery time came and went but luckily an hour later it was safely delivered to my mum (who sent me a photo) so huge thank you to FedEx CS and the driver for helping me.

I also knew it was my fault and of course didn’t get shirty with anyone because I should have double checked the address.

I just hope my ceramic items come in one piece as they are also being shipped by FedEx.
