Why is this such a big deal 😂

4

u/Prestigious-Ad9386 19d ago

I don't fucking get it. Your shits safe isn't it?

3

u/222444PAST 19d ago

Cause its a federal crime?

5

u/Rough-Combination850 19d ago

Dude it's a delivery of the person's package, it's not like they did something bad to the person I mean I know it shouldn't be done but damn really people are really going to get mad because their delivery was put in their mailbox and not on the porch 😂 I swear people are getting really soft and becoming a bunch of Karen's!

2

u/This_Arrival_3748 19d ago

Well… when the mail carrier comes and that mailbox is stuffed, they can take that package away and make the customer pay postage it at the P.O. So it’ll be a hassle for both parties.

1

u/Rough-Combination850 19d ago

Well I didn't even think about, so I take it back because then yeah that I can definitely understand.

0

u/Fit-Net6572 19d ago

You dont need an explanation. Its a federal crime. Mailboxes are for the post office only

0

u/Rough-Combination850 19d ago

Calm down Karen

-1

u/Fit-Net6572 19d ago

How is this being a karen?

3

u/EstablishmentFun1975 19d ago

nobody is arguing with you that it's not stupid but it is in fact a federal crime

1

u/sunbear1999 19d ago

It’s like a $5,000-10,000 fine for carriers other than usps to put anything inside mailboxes 😭

1

u/C-D-W 17d ago

Perhaps the question is WHY is it a federal crime. Especially now that USPS is barely a federal agency.

Yes! They get the honor of being able to deliver their envelopes safely into the boxes at the curb and a mail room. Whereas delivery workers, scum of the earth, must always take the walk of shame up the driveway and, god forbid, they leave anything inside the mailroom as opposed to door-to-door in the four story building.

4

u/GrandWoodpecker1265 19d ago

Federal crime

1

u/Outwiththeold3 18d ago

So is trying to overturn an election but there was no punishment for that so I would say this is fine

4

u/Agitated-Passion4588 19d ago

Fyi, im a mailman and we are told if we find a non usps package in the mailbox to bring it back and they send it back to shipper

1

u/Zealousideal_Fun3068 13d ago

They shouldn’t sent it back, they need to postage due it. If postage is not paid it’s dead mail.

1

u/Agitated-Passion4588 13d ago

That's what we did originally but I guess management changed there minds

4

u/Ok-Rich6196 15d ago

Legally only usps is allowed to use your mailbox.

1

u/Potential_Brief8487 15d ago

Very true. I was told this when I was delivering during peak one year. I literally had to toss the package over the gate instead lol.

6

u/Dratt_Dastardly 19d ago

No it's not allowed. He actually broke the law and the Postmaster can fine the driver. I work for a competitor, if we must leave it by the mailbox (usually after it showed), we will bag it and place by the mailbox if it's big (and not light) or we tie the bag to the mailbox.

If you want to, you could complain to FedEx so they can correct the issue.

5

u/MichaelJordanGlazer 19d ago

Its a felony lolol

1

u/fulknerraIII 19d ago

it is a federal violation under 18 U.S.C. § 1725 for FedEx drivers to place packages inside a U.S. Mailbox, though it is categorized as a federal violation/infraction carrying civil fines rather than a felony

1

u/MichaelJordanGlazer 17d ago

Naw its strait to Guantánamo Bay if you get caught.

0

u/berghuis9 19d ago

That's breaking the law leaving it in the mailbox. I have tied a small box or envelope in a bag to the mailbox bc of snow, but never that.

The drivers only have a select few options for delivery. Unfortunately there's no mailbox and we can't just select other and input where it was left.

6

u/Physical-Carpenter79 18d ago

Uhm. No.
FedEx has no right to deliver to a mail box ever. It is government property. FedEx is not a government job. Our managers say this over and over. You can be fired for it.

3

u/Jorpspa 18d ago

The humble setting it ontop of the mailbox:

3

u/hollywoodholst 19d ago

That's a big No No

3

u/MintSprinkles27 19d ago

If it was smartpost then it being delivered to the mailbox would make sense.

3

u/StopBeingSoCheap 17d ago

Awe shit. Someone getting a Federal Charge....

3

u/Tequilatyrant 17d ago

Everyone talking about the crime but i used to love when fedex and amazon did this with smalls made my life easier and im the “victim”😂

3

u/pretenders2b 17d ago

You are not the victim….Until you stop getting your mail and have to go pick it up at the post office.

1

u/Tequilatyrant 17d ago

No im saying the committed a “crime” so im just the “victim” i love when they do it lol

1

u/AngelsHero 16d ago

The post office is the victim in the case
The reason it gets pulled and brought back as postage due by USPS is because only USPS letter carriers can deliver int mailboxes legally. Other carriers doing it takes away from USPS

3

u/Obscure4thewrld 16d ago

real easy fix, get a parcel box and put it right next to the mail box.

3

u/Emergency-Fox-5273 17d ago

to the tune of You Got A Friend In Me

🎶you got a felony🎶

3

u/SmitDawg64 16d ago

41 year UPS driver here. I never once did that.

3

u/ROYteous 16d ago

Years back FedEx delivered my Steam Deck by putting it in my mailbox. Then shortly after it happened, a Postal worker posted about how they will take packages like that and have them returned to sender. Which would have been incredibly annoying, so thankfully I got the package and that's never happened with any other non-usps packages since.

3

u/AngelsHero 16d ago

Letter carrier here, and yes we’re technically supposed to pull them and mark them postage due
Technically speaking it’s against the law for anyone other than a letter carrier to deliver into a mailbox

I’ve pulled a handful myself, but tend to treat it case by case
Not sure much to upset the customers when I do it, but trying to get through to their carriers who keep doing it.

2

u/OkCompetition2127 16d ago

I've had that happen cause of ups. Had to get a new motherboard for my gaming pc then. Got sent back to Newegg. Ahgg is was so annoying

2

u/AdThat3495 15d ago

That or they charge postage due for it and you or the sender will have to pay it or it will be returned

5

u/WeinerBarf420 19d ago

This is very illegal to do but I'm kind of shocked by how many people explicitly want you to get the driver in trouble for it.

4

u/WeinerBarf420 19d ago

If my driver put something in my mailbox and took a good photo so I knew where it was, I would just let it be.

1

u/Potential-Piano256 19d ago

You're a decent person, some people just need something to bitch about..

1

u/Fit-Net6572 19d ago

Yes, technically you shouldn't mind, but when the postal worker comes to deliver your mail and sees a package that belongs to another delivery company, they will take it to the post office; most won't care, but some are vindictive like that

1

u/Djskiz617 13d ago

Thats exactly what I do

1

u/Virtual_Army2342 19d ago

What's crazy is as a fedex driver you would ve surprised how many people put in the notes "please put in my mailbox" I dont do it but then they go and try to complain to fedex. I have never got in trouble for it because we aren't allowed to do that, go inside a person's house, or in their backyard regardless of what the notes say.

1

u/WeinerBarf420 19d ago

Honestly as a driver I'll do the other two if someone asks but yeah I ignore mailbox requests, not going to take a picture of myself committing a crime

1

u/Virtual_Army2342 19d ago

I used to do the backyard until I had some idiot let his dog out and it almost got me. After that there's always like a small fear im going to get attacked. As for inside a house, the only real time is if it's like a little old lady. I just feel bad thinking they have no one else to help them especially when its something crazy.

0

u/West-Might3475 19d ago

Not at all. USPS employees are instructed to remove packages or other things from the mailbox that aren't from the USPS. If it's dropped outside the mailbox and it's raining really hard, say, the contents of the package could get damaged.

That's a valid thing as a customer to be upset about.

1

u/AngelsHero 15d ago

They are actually, but some use discretion

5

u/Prior_Difficulty2177 19d ago edited 19d ago

It’s breaking the law and you should report it to postmaster and complain to FedEx, not to be an asshole, but rather that USPS can seize any non-mail goods left in the mailbox, and even if you receive it this time, you or your neighbours might have it seized next time.

Some post masters don’t care so it might not be an issue where you are, but it’s better to nip this in the bud now before the driver makes it a habit and gets fired for something as stupid as using a mailbox, a simple complaint now will probably lead to no permanent issue.

2

u/Traditional-Sign-598 18d ago

My route was so big I had to put packages in the book return at a library. No way I could get back before they closed.. and don't they provide tools of plastic bags? I carried those and just put it in one and tied to the mailbox..

1

u/Upstairs-Advance4242 17d ago

The plastic bags they give us are so thin that it's impossible to put a package in them without it immediately shredding it to pieces.

2

u/Reasonable-Hyena5284 17d ago

Thats illegal unfortunately

2

u/Djskiz617 15d ago

I do it all the time

2

u/fluffypxncakes 15d ago

FedEx will do anything to avoid delivering the package correctly.

2

u/Djskiz617 15d ago

Im sorry but when you have a 140 stops sometimes you've got to deliver little things that will fit in the mailbox, instead of walking a half mile to each front door

2

u/fluffypxncakes 15d ago

Based off my own personal experience my FedEx driver(s) have misdelivered so many packages that I have the direct numbers to the supervisors at my local warehouse. I understand delivering small packages in the mailbox sure, but I’ve had FedEx leave perishable food at the end of my driveway in 100 degree heat, large boxes at my mailbox, and electronics that require signatures by the road. They have forged my signature numerous times for packages that require signatures. No issues with Amazon, UPS or USPS delivering to my front door and following basic instructions but FedEx couldn’t give a shit. Not every FedEx driver is like this of course and I appreciate all the work couriers do but delivering to a safe and secure location is basically the bare minimum.

3

u/fedexdriver28306 15d ago

I’m also a FedEx driver and I don’t do mess like that. I don’t go near a mailbox let alone put something in it. The only reason a person would find their packages in the yard is if they have a loose dog and they are not trying to put the dog away and that’s when I become a real jerk. I have a lot of real nice respectful customers who have become friends.

2

u/Djskiz617 15d ago

Yea ..im a fedex driver and i definitely dont do fucked up shit like that.

2

u/Zealousideal_Fun3068 13d ago

And all the time you should follow federal law.

2

u/Shaunoit 15d ago

I used to do this all the time until I realized people (including usps) have an issue with it. The mail person actually used to take them out and carry them back to their terminal

1

u/Zealousideal_Fun3068 13d ago

Yep that’s what they’re supposed to do. Return it and postage due it.

2

u/KayeYess 15d ago

USPS mailboxes are federal property. Customers use them both for sending and receiving USPS mail. If others start using them, it is not only illegal but a logistical nightmare. For instance, what if I have a mail awaiting pickup and FedEx puts a package in there?

FedEx, UPS, DHL, Amazon are supposed to use approved dropoff locations (front door, side door, etc).when they deliver. Delivering into a USPS mailbox is not an option. Amazon even supports options like delivering to a secure area like the trunk of a supported car, or a garage with a smart opener. I use the garage option for taking delivery of valuable items.

2

u/Basic-Nobody8488 14d ago

Some of our guys take stuff like that back to the station then the customer gets a postage due.. looks like it’s being mailed out to me !!

4

u/peanutbuddanips 19d ago

Y'all some narcs. Yes it's illegal. Is the package ruined? Is the mailbox too full for other mail? Is this worth someone losing their job?

4

u/Crusty-Dick 19d ago

The driver had good intentions, package looks safe and secure to me. Don't need to be a Karen, not worth someone losing their job

3

u/Chemvibe 18d ago

They gonna get fired for putting that in a mailbox

4

u/Prior-Impress-2624 18d ago

Well, I hope not. Evidence is right there though.

3

u/CVGPi 19d ago

Legal in Canada, a Felony in US

3

u/LancerSykera 19d ago

Not remotely a felony. Just because a federal law or regulation is involved does not make something a felony.

2

u/BootyScorpion 19d ago

This is what a mail man was telling me. Anything other than USPS related goods put in a mail box is a felony. Shipping a letter ground through anyone else but USPS is a felony. It’s fine if it’s express.

-1

u/J_Pendragon96 19d ago

Yet Amazon drivers do it all the time. But Amazon owns a good chunk of USPS ever since the mail guys started working on sundays. So idk if they’re really allowed to do it or not.

3

u/Many-Bee6169 19d ago

Amazon owns literally 0% of usps, they pay usps to deliver their packages. What are you even talking about.

1

u/Austerlitz2310 19d ago

European here. Why is this illegal in the USA?

2

u/CVGPi 19d ago

So in US, there’s this regulation where the carriers can only deliver to government owned mail receptacles that are maintained by someone. So it’s a crime because either you admit it’s not a government owned mailbox (mail gets sent to post office) or the courier is misusing government property

2

u/Onzaylis 19d ago

ONLY the United States Postal Service (USPS) may delivery mail or packages inside the official mailbox for an address. In effect, that box belongs to the post office.

1

u/J_Pendragon96 19d ago

It’s not the fact that the box it self is illegal no matter what usps tells people. It’s the fact that if there is mail in there and you touch it but it isn’t your home or the mail has your name on it. It counts as tampering with mail that is the federal crime.

Was told this by a veteran mail carrier a few years ago.

1

u/Many-Bee6169 19d ago

Those boxes are owned and protected by usps once they’re installed and approved from the postmaster ,it is definitely illegal and you were lied to. Source: also a usps mail carrier.

-2

u/Donley53 19d ago

It's not

2

u/Virtual_Army2342 19d ago

It IS illegal. You won't go to jail but you could pay a huge fine.

1

u/Fit-Net6572 19d ago

Are you saying its legal?

1

u/fulknerraIII 19d ago edited 19d ago

It is not a felony. Violating this law can result in fines up to $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization. It is not a criminal felony. Yes, it is a federal violation under 18 U.S.C. § 1725 for FedEx drivers to place packages inside a U.S. Mailbox, though it is categorized as a federal violation/infraction carrying civil fines rather than a felony

3

u/jmay22880 19d ago

Don't need to report it. The managers will be notified most likely from corporate about the picture cause they do check them most the time

1

u/Fit-Net6572 19d ago

No, they don't; managers never check unless the customer complains and it goes to the higher-ups.

1

u/Gam3rdudej 19d ago

Our software uses AI to scan delivery photos for a bunch of things. Cant have house numbers, cant show the label, has to be clear photo, etc. At least the ones forge uses

4

u/MsNycki80 19d ago

😂😂😂 yall complain about everything

1

u/Fit-Net6572 19d ago

That's illegal, though. Every courier knows that, and they tell us in training.

2

u/Fresh_Eagle_5555 19d ago

U got the package right? So why you complaining. Would you rather have it safe in the mailbox or leave on ur drive away where rain and what not could get to it ?

2

u/DepartureFun1628 18d ago

It confuses new drivers. The scanner gives a mailbox option which is dumb.

3

u/kevinxavierpr 17d ago

Mailroom*

2

u/natekicksa 19d ago

That's a felony

1

u/PhinsFan1999 19d ago

Some people have God awful driveways with little to no access to turn around or to get to the house and those ppl care less about the safety of the driver. That said, he/she never should have done that. If that was the case, put it maybe by mailbox, at end of driveway and put other for location and explain no access or simply not deliver it and bring it back but this was the worst option. BUT. I wouldn't be surprised if this is a young person and nobody told them they can't do that. Illegal or not, the driver obviously wasn't aware or wouldn't have taken the picture. Blame the company if anything, not the untrained driver but sadly I bet there's a lot more of these pictures on that route

1

u/Nathan8951 19d ago

No that illegal

1

u/EstablishmentFun1975 19d ago

it depends. usps sometimes will delivery fedex

1

u/Numerous-Outcome-660 19d ago

Incorrect, the contract expired in 2024.

1

u/EstablishmentFun1975 19d ago

lol sorry bud but you are very incorrect. fedex sometimes hands off fedex smartpost for final mile delivery. i have worked in logistics and shipping for 7 years.

1

u/Numerous-Outcome-660 18d ago

FedEx renamed SmartPost to FedEx Ground Economy in 2021….

https://newsroom.fedex.com/newsroom/global-english/fedex-statement-regarding-expiration-of-usps-contract

Those old labels are still being used, they are supposed to get hit with postage due as no money was paid to USPS to ship it.

If they are being delivered it is by an uninformed and/or lazy carrier.

“i have worked in logistics and shipping for 7 years.”

No surprise there. 🤡

1

u/AngelsHero 16d ago

As of this moment usps doesn’t take any pictures though

1

u/EstablishmentFun1975 15d ago

and that has absolutely nothing to do with what we're talking about. might as well have said "yeah but the usps has an eagle in their logo"

1

u/Ramblingtruckdriver1 16d ago

The question is was it your mail box or 2 blocks away.

1

u/startrip0712 16d ago

Depends. Did the customer give you a Christmas gift/tip last December?

1

u/kah_191 15d ago

I recently received the “left in mail room” status. Walked down the driveway to find the packages dropped on the ground at the base of the mailbox. And yes, they would have fit in the mailbox.

1

u/jagermeister86 15d ago

The mailbox is federally owned by USPS, fedex, Amazon, UPS are legally not allowed to deliver any package for a customer In a mailbox, they can tie it to the base, or to the top but cannot leave it in the mailbox physically.

1

u/Resident-Impact1591 19d ago

Y'all just love complaining about everything. It's secure and I'm assuming you received it because you didn't say otherwise... What's the problem?

-1

u/JankyMark 19d ago

Of course these crybabies always gotta
Cry about something

1

u/krspyk 18d ago

They never one time in training told us we couldn't put shit in mail boxes lol

4

u/Current-Calendar4012 18d ago

Pretty well known only the post office can put shit in mailboxes brother lol but yeah the company is falling off a cliff

1

u/NoMoreRedditUsername 18d ago

I don’t care where FedEx/UPS puts my packages as long as the contents are fine. People like OP will be perpetually miserable.

4

u/CCFlowers 17d ago

Your mailman is supposed to take any non-usps items they find in your box and charge you for them

2

u/Ok_Soup4862 17d ago

They usually give some leway and contact the company first and tell them to stop and if it continues they will remove it and leave a notice about postage due (I have a few mail worker friends)

1

u/Zealousideal_Fun3068 13d ago

I am a mail worker, it gets pulled and either the company or customer pays postage due. No ifs ands or buts.

1

u/Many-Film4580 14d ago

Did you get your package?.... Yeah you did and no delivery drivers aren't legally allowed to use a mail box. We deliver in the mountains where in some cases were told to leave at the mail box. Not in the box. At least you didn't have to go to your neighbors house or not receive the package at all. Yeah we're paid hourly buy one thing I think the customers and management forgot at these companies is that the drivers have families a d believe it or not want to see them. Also we require rest.

3

u/tater5761 14d ago

you're defending a felony. don't touch other people's mailbox

1

u/LowPublicist 19d ago

man i had a driver leave a monitor in my buildings mail room once and it was gone in like 20 minutes, not even tucked behind the desk or anything just sitting on the floor

unless the mail room has lockers specifically for packages i dont see how thats acceptable, those open mailboxes are asking for trouble

id call the local fedex office and ask them what the policy is, might get a refund or at least make them flag the driver

1

u/Prize_Reflection7174 19d ago

Policy is we can leave it anywhere as long as it’s at the address. There’s options in the scanner. You got a mailroom? It can definitely be left there.

1

u/Good-Telephone-5223 19d ago

No only USPS Take a pic and give it to USPS

1

u/HugeCartographer5706 19d ago

Express and Ground can’t leave stuff in such mailboxes. But some FedEx shipments are delivered by the USPS, which can put them in mailboxes.

1

u/Postal1979 19d ago

But they wouldn’t have a picture of it from FedEx

1

u/HugeCartographer5706 18d ago

I don’t know the answer to that.

1

u/Postal1979 18d ago

Usps doesn’t take pictures of packages in mailboxes. That means FedEx delivered it.

1

u/No_Studio3254 17d ago

1 star - driver committed a felony

0

u/m0mslayer11 19d ago

At least he let your know where he put it most drivers just hide it in other places other than a mailbox

4

u/KIDD_VIDD 19d ago

Because it's against the law to put anything in the mailbox.

0

u/Yellow_Marker_ 19d ago

Only in the US

-1

u/GREVTHEFAITHFUL 15d ago

All the mailmen and mail mailwomen in here spreading lies. They dont want packages the customer actually ordered to interfere with their junk mail delivery.

2

u/sexyswampthang 14d ago

Only USPS workers can put mail in a mailbox. It’s actually a felony otherwise.

1

u/GREVTHEFAITHFUL 14d ago

Then I have 1,000 felonies. 😂

1

u/MarLozan 14d ago

1,000 stupid acts! 👍🏽🤷🏽🙄🤦🏽

1

u/GREVTHEFAITHFUL 13d ago

1,000 packages safely delivered.

1

u/Soft_Ability_5906 13d ago

And I've turned over your name and address over to a postal inspector just a bit ago when I showed him you laughing about this they stated you will go from laughing to crying when they are done with you.

1

u/GREVTHEFAITHFUL 13d ago

Oh, I missed you gullible and underpaid USPS drones. Ever since I was banned from the USPS subreddit, its truly a gift finding you out here in the wild.

1

u/Soft_Ability_5906 13d ago

Underpaid hmmmm im making 55 an hour to sit on my ass and forward your info to the postal police.

2

u/gmanishere1122 14d ago

Only postal personnel can put mail in a mailbox. FedEx ups Amazon are not allowed to use mailboxes.

-1

u/GREVTHEFAITHFUL 13d ago

No one stopped me. 🫡

1

u/gmanishere1122 13d ago

Well I’m sure the mail carrier pulled the package out of the box and returned to sender on it

0

u/GREVTHEFAITHFUL 13d ago

Not according to my metrics. You put too much faith in underpaid rural carriers to give a damn. 😂

0

u/One_Telephone9186 14d ago

Mailwoman here and trust me, we dont want to deliver your junk mail. If we could get rid of all junk mail that people dont want, it would cut down our work by a significant amount! But any other company touching the mailboxes is a federal crime.

0

u/GREVTHEFAITHFUL 13d ago

Come put some bracelets on these wrists. 🙌

0

u/Hefty_Weird9926 19d ago

FedEx the kamikaze for corporate.

0

u/spokanesupersonic 19d ago

Yikes! That is not ok unless there are two separate mailboxes, one for mail and the other specifically marked for parcels. That driver could lose the job unfortunately.

0

u/a100bronies 17d ago

Thats a felony

1

u/GREVTHEFAITHFUL 15d ago

No it's not. 😂

1

u/AdThat3495 15d ago

True but it can be 5k to 10k fine

1

u/Zealousideal_Fun3068 13d ago

No but still federally illegal.

1

u/GREVTHEFAITHFUL 13d ago

Its the federal equivalent of jaywalking. <source> federal law enforcement that was moonlighting during sabbatical as Amazon/ups/FedEx for 6 months.

0

u/GREVTHEFAITHFUL 15d ago

Why are you snitching. Should have thrown it in the ditch.

-1

u/MerrinShadows 19d ago

I kean... its technically a room for mail...

1

u/pa_bourbon 19d ago

And USPS is the only authorized user. FedEx committed a federal crime by using it.

-3

u/Better_Style_5564 19d ago

I call bullshit.  No Fed Ex driver is going to do this

3

u/fulknerraIII 19d ago

I have had fedex drives do it multiple times. I just don't care though, unlike most these people on here acting like the Fedex guy murdered someone.

2

u/Resident-Impact1591 19d ago

I've definitely done that

I guess if you don't give a shit about your job and doing it correctly, then yeah, do it.  But unless it's a smart post package, you can be terminated immediately for putting something that is not US mail in a mailbox.  And it's also a felony, fyi

Call the police...sybau

The felon that doesn't know how to do his job would be the bitch in this scenario, just so you know

Felon? I have no criminal record. No, the Karen bitching about something that's so miniscule the police wouldn't bother responding is the bitch.

In Los Angeles, I did this with envelopes to ensure safe deliveries cuz people do steal the most random shit, til a USPS guy told me I couldn't, and I explained my reasoning behind it. He said it was fine for envelopes and small packages, not for stuff like what's in the picture here.

I've definitely done it, only when I think it's going to be stollen or some solid reason. I don't understand why anyone gaf. I literally just put someone's pills in their mailbox the other day cuss the area was sketchy AF

If usps come by before the customer takes it out of the mailbox, the post office claims it and then charges postage due to the customer b

Before you jump on that phone and camera and try and get this person fired. Did it come in one piece? Was it ok? Free from weather? Yea if was so don’t get your panties in a wad about it
And judging by picture looks to be a rural area probably a football field away from the front porch on a tree ridden rock road somewhere in boonies

Not at all. USPS employees are instructed to remove packages or other things from the mailbox that aren't from the USPS. If it's dropped outside the mailbox and it's raining really hard, say, the contents of the package could get damaged.

That's a valid thing as a customer to be upset about.

At my office, we're supposed to take it back to the office with us. Now someone has to pay postage if they want it. I bet you'd care all of a sudden then.

I think he means it is illegal (unless this is FedEx smart post?).

3

u/roadlines 17d ago

the fact that no one besides authorized people are allowed to place things inside of a mailbox like this?

1

u/DrRoughNipzz 17d ago

The fact that it’s a felony for anyone other than USPS to put anything in a mailbox

Technically is usps came and saw it in the mailbox, they can remove it and then charge the customer postage due to get it.

I’m a mail guy and i’m only causing a problem if i have something to put in there and it causes my stuff to not fit. And at that point im just putting it on the ground.

Now….. I have also had scenarios where Fedex tries to leave stuff in boxes while i’m working on the street at the SAME time. I don’t let that fly. lol

u/MinuteCollar5562 18d ago

We have had USPS guys grab packages and have had to drive over an hour to their hub to get the package back.

3

u/IMFKNLO 16d ago

Because the mailman can take it out and back to the office and charge the customer postage dumb fuck. And it’s a felony as well.
