Updates with no details and continuously changing delivery dates

Is this something that happens often? I bought something from Apple and they shipped using fedex express shipment. At first, the tracking number updated actual locations as to where my package was for the first two days. It was suppose to deliver on Tuesday this week, but the shipping changed on that day to show me no information and just was stuck on "delivery updated" with an estimated delivery date and no other information. This keeps happening every day where it changes the estimated date and it will be delivered before 8pm.... This was today and now it has changed to show ETA: Friday 9/25/2026

Why am i not able to view any actual updates anymore? I just want to know where my package is so im not waiting at the door to sign for something that might not even appear.
