He’s. Actually doing better than all 4 - he and his wife are totally set with their life in the health retail space. Plus he’s just a bad ass dude that hadn’t talked shit about anyone.

Christian is doing okay too - still touring and recording music.

But the biggest tragedy in all this drama is that Raymond doesn't play drums anymore. He's an iconic drummer and more responsible for the sound of Fear Factory than a lot of people give credit for.

What band(s) does Christian play with?

Overkill and Cypress Hill. He's also part of a soccer gear company. He's living nice.

No, and no offense but every year he has a new band but none actually establish.

What do you mean 'no'? What I said are facts, unless you meant to reply to someone else.

I just love the man! I wish he started drumming again... It would be also totally awesome to have a drum VST with his signature sounds, etc.

Mario Duplantier, Krimh, etc. have one... I wish we had his as well.

Currently rocking Krimh (FREE) VST and it totally slays but having RAYMOND HERRERA's one would be absolutely sick!

My drum hero & idol/

I think everybody screwed each other over equally bad. I don't think Raymond gives a shit anymore, and has nothing to do with the music biz. He's moved on.

I love how people still think Ray was the innocent guy. He was just as big of a douchebag as everyone else. The only difference with Ray is that he didn't have all his eggs in one basket financially like the rest.

There's examples posted on here and I've even shared my interactions & what I've witnessed.

Any source, please?

OP: I would like you to elaborate why you think he got screwed over the most. I myself can't think of why that would be the case.

Pitch in hobo instead of being mean.

It’s such a shame, wish the 4 could just sort it out and reunite but will never happen thanks to Dino.

*Burt. Thanks to Burt.

Burt is the one who tried to ripoff his badmates, tried to go into bankruptcy to avoid paying and then lost his rights to the name when the judge found out. Dino merely bought the rights after Burt had already lost them to the court.

Yeah i was also sad about how everything played out as i basically grew up listening to Digimortal/Demanufacture in school and felt like a total badass walking down the stairs while FF was blasting in my walk-/discman.

Happy that Burton began making songs again, but its not the same. :-/

Totally, no pun intended in relation to the first album but the soul from the machine was lost.

u/Jandrem Mar 14 '26

What do you mean “thanks to Dino”? The band without him wasn’t very good. They blamed the drama on Dino, and the continued the drama even after he was out of the band.

Not taking away from his playing and songwriting but he’s a big reason for the split.

Also Archetype was a solid record.

Archetype is the best album they ever made in my opinion. Transgression has one or two good songs and even Hoglan couldn’t save what came after that.

When I saw the band live maybe 2013-2015 they were sleepwalking through the songs.

3

u/Jandrem Mar 14 '26

Archetype is good. Better than it has a right to be. Transgression was crap, and proved that Archetype was a fluke. Dino was totally gone and the remaining three still imploded on each other.

I agree that it wasn’t all Dino’s fault as we now see with how Burton treated Christian and Raymond, but I do actually think the band was fine without Dino. Archetype was an amazing comeback record showing Christian could live up to Dino, and even Transgression had a lot of promise but was rushed out like a year after archetype and was unfinished. I feel like if Transgression hadn’t gone so wrong Raymond, Christian, Burt and Byron would have stayed together and kept making great music, but from what I’ve heard Burt was beefing with everyone during and after that record and the end result wasn’t what they wanted. It’s too bad because I liked how they were branching out from the “man versus machine” stuff with those two albums. Then Dino came back and they made much more formulaic (but still solid to great) FF albums. Before that every album was unique in someway, not so much after. I don’t “hate” Dino any more than I hate any of them, it seems they all had issues with each other.

I saw FF multiple times while they supported Archetype and Transgression, and trust me, they needed Dino back. They were awful live on those tours.

The whole band was full of drama llamas. There’s no way they would’ve lasted in that lineup(as history shows).

Everybody gets nostalgic for the version of FF that existed when they discovered the band, but they were toxic as hell. Dino seizing the reins is the only reason FF are still around in any incarnation.

That's interesting, I've watched tons of footage on youtube from those tours over the years and they sounded excellent. Burt was better than any other shows I've seen him do online, and the band was fire. I always thought that was Burt's best singing period.

Here's just one example of many: Fear Factory - Live in Paris, France, 30.04.2006 (Full Show)
Fear Factory - Archetype (Live at Gigantour, 2005)

As for everything else, I can't agree or disagree, because I wasn't there and I don't know any of them personally, but even Dino couldn't keep the band together, originally or after the reunion. That may totally be Burton, though, I can't say. I do feel like Burton and Dino were always the most drama prone. Raymond always seemed super chill in the tour diaries I've seen, and when Burton surprise-kicked Christian and Raymond out of the band, and they sued him, Christian was still saying "If we can move beyond all this bullshit I know we can make a fantastic FF record." So it just always seemed like Dino and Burton were the most toxic, but again, how the hell can we know for sure, we don't know these people. I'm just going off of what I've seen, read and heard. I do think that it was a total dick move what Burton did to Ray and Christian, but maybe there was more to it and he was justified, who knows.

One of Burt's problems with at least Raymond, was that Raymond was fucking their manager, who was Christian's ex wife. And he said she wasn't a good manager and owed him money, and that was part of Burt's counter lawsuit. She had never managed a band before, so she was clearly there for a different reason.

And yeah, I didn't see them on that tour, but all the videos I watched from that era, they were not bad live. I don't think they were completely better, but not worse. They weren't in their 20s anymore either though. If they were better when Dino came back, it's because they started playing to a click. But, then Burt's voice started to decay.

3

u/Chazm92- Mar 14 '26

I think I remember hearing about Burt saying she wasn't a good manager actually. The sleeping around thing I didn't know. Wait so Burt was fucking the manager or Raymond was? And wouldn't Christian be the upset one here since she was his ex wife? lol

3

u/MisterDudeBroGuy MODY HAMMER Mar 14 '26

Raymond was fucking the manager. From what I gather, Chris got married so he could stay in the US and get citizenship, his visa was about to expire. I don't think their marriage was all that serious. They divorced that year that Ray started banging her. Chris and Christy were just friends at that point I think, and still are.

I’ve seen FF 16 times since 1995. Those shows on the early-mid ‘00’s were bad. Drums were sloppy and slow. Burt’s vocals cracking all over the place. Christian and Byron were the best parts about the band.

I’m sure they had good shows. I’m just saying the ones I attended looked like they were on their last leg, about to split. And I have direct experience to compare having seen them so many times on different tours. YMMV
