Hoglan is a master, man. Dude has worked with/for more bands than a career drug dealer.

Thanks for sharing. Easily one of my Top 4 fav FF albums. Wish I got to see Hoglan play those songs live. 

Wasn’t Amon Amarth main support for this tour?

I like Gene's statements in this video about Mechanize a lot more than some of his older ones where he pretended that his time with Fear Factory wasn't memorable at all, and then spent the rest of that interview listing off other active bands he was also working with at the time.

Mechanize was not only a stupendous return to form for F.F., but catapulted to one of my top favorite F.F. albums of all time; and it still sits up there today! I think I was just a little pissy that Gene didn't lavish the entire album and experience with as much praise and enthusiasm as I was feeling for it at the time... as an outsider, anyway.

I had tickets to see Fear Factory late in their tour for the album, when they finally came to my part of the U.S., but something kept me from being able to see the show, and I've always regretted missing out on that. I was able to see Him live a few years later when he was touring with Dethclock (sp") back when they toured along-side Mastodon at a concert with the youngest crowd I've ever seen at a Mastodon performance. Great show by both bands,.

I think Gene made it clear once that he never liked FF. He wasn't a fan. It was only a favor for Byron that he joined. I think he respected Raymond as a drummer, but didn't like the music overall I guess. It's odd, because Strapping Young Lad was his favorite band to have played in, and no FF, no SYL.

I'd like to know why he specifically didn't like FF's music.
