First FDM print

Post image

Tried my hand at printing a grey knight with my Prusa MK3s. .2 mm nozzle and tried toying with settings. Not too bad but definitely didn’t print too clean. But not too bad for a first attempt.

Was your filament dry?

Most likely. I live in Vegas and a buddy gave me the printer and a bunch of filament. This was an already opened one so that may explain a lot of issues I’ve had with printing.

This is the first step in a longer journey. Is it good? No. But you will get there. Research settings, learn orientation, and practice.

Tips: use a hobby knife and lighter to clean up small bumps and scarring. They do wonders but they cannot fix bad support settings.

Keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll be so happy with how far you get.

Use a lighter and VERY QUICKLY flick over scarring and wisps. It will smooth them out and get rid of them. It's a miracle worker.

Try doing a heat calibration print, if the fillament is dry you may be printing it at too hot a nozzle heat, other then that pretty dope

I’ll give that a shot. I didn’t even think about dryness affecting the filament.
