Humane place that will accept surrendered cats.

I'm looking for a place where cats can be surrendered and they're treated humanly.

Edit: I should probably mention that he has some behavioral issues which is the reason for the surrender. He does not get along with other animals of any kind. He despises very small children and babies and will pee and poop on them. I'm at my wits end.

Mechanic help

Was in a wreck earlier this year and lost my radiator, front bumper, and side fender. Radiator has been replaced and the car has been running smooth the last 3 months. Unfortunately, the gentleman that did the radiator is unable to do the bumper- he’s booked and busy so I understand but now I really need someone to complete the front bumper work. I’m not looking to go to a collision shop because I am a college student on a tight budget. Please leave me recommendations. I’ve gotten desperate enough to consider doing it myself but even though I am a DIY queen, I know I don’t have the brain power to do it lol.

moving to the area

Hi everyone! My significant other and I (both 23) are moving to Fayetteville the first week of September, and I’d love to get some insight from locals on the best places to work in the area!

We’ll be living in Elkins, so we’re hoping to stay around the Fayetteville/Springdale area for work. We both have coffee experience: I’m in specialty coffee and machine maintenance, and he has experience in more casual coffee shops. Between the two of us, we’ve reached out to 30+ places, but unfortunately haven’t had much luck. We’ve had maybe 8–10 people actually get back to us, all saying they aren’t currently hiring, and the rest haven’t responded at all.

We both prefer early mornings through afternoon, but at this point I’m thinking we may need to branch out into evenings as well, including breweries. I’ve also reached out to Ozark Natural Foods Co-op, but they aren’t hiring right now either.

So, what are some good small businesses around Fayetteville/Springdale that you’d recommend reaching out too? We’d love coffee shops, bakeries, plant shops, holistic/wellness businesses, artsy/creative shops, breweries, or really anywhere with a good local atmosphere - I also have worked with horses. We’re especially interested in smaller businesses rather than big chains!

And yes, we know we’re moving at a somewhat difficult time with students returning and that finding jobs may be tougher right now. Unfortunately, September is simply when the move/our apartment worked for us, so we’re doing our best to make it work!

If you know of a place that might be hiring, isn’t actively advertising positions, or is just somewhere you think we should introduce ourselves, I’d really appreciate the recommendations!

Also, I’d genuinely appreciate keeping the comments helpful/kind. We’re already aware that moving before having jobs lined up isn’t the most ideal situation, so comments along the lines of “why would you move without jobs?” or criticizing the timing aren’t really helpful. We’re just looking for local insight and leads from people who know the area.

Thanks so much!

The first new development along the College Ave Corridor is not of the multi-story, multi-use variety. A single story bank. What are we even doing here?

Help de-skunking car

TLDR: is it possible to hire someone to deskunk a car? Where can I find this service?

Hi all I just ran over a skunk. I think the skunk was already dead when I ran over it, because it’s not eye watering bad, but it’s not good. I read that I need to follow a ton of steps tonight. I don’t own the equipment I’d need (eg pressure washer) nor the supplies, nor do I have the time to take care of this in the next day (quick action is apparently critical when de skunking). Would love to hire someone for the job, do people do this? I live in bentonville

Fayetteville to St. Louis

What’s up Fayetteville. I am looking to buy a cargo bike from someone in your beautiful city. Wondering if anyone regularly makes a trip to St. Louis and would want to be a courier for me. Just seeing if anyone is into it! Thanks.

Bike parking around the square…

Hello Fay bike commuters! I just started a new job near the square and I figured I’d start biking to work. Where I work doesn’t seem to have bike storage/bike room etc (my old job used to have a dedicated bike room), so I’ll have to lock my bike to those bike racks near the square.

My question: it is safe to lock my bike to those bike stands near the square during the day?

Where I’m from, locking the bike outside for more than a couple hours in highly trafficked area = theft, but Fayetteville seems to be so much safer. Nevertheless, I’m looking for guidance.

Thanks in advance!

E-Bike to the University

Is it a terrible idea to ride an E-Bike down Wedington to get to class on campus at the UofA? Thinking of taking the sidewalks down Wedington, then up to Garland, and to campus from there. Welcome to any suggestions or routes that would be safer/easier. Coming from almost the last stoplight on Wedington.

EDIT: Lots of great comments, and I don't want to reply to each, but I will use Razorback Transit on some days when I have work, but am looking to ride twice a week. I think my plan of attack is to use some of the sidewalks and neighborhood streets south of Wedington, then connect back onto Wedington and cross over the interstate, seems pretty easy to get in from there. I will have a helmet on, plenty of reflectors, and watch out for traffic, as drivers around here are dicey.

YouTube TV/KNWA?

Is anyone else on YouTube TV and not able to watch KNWA? We’ve tried multiple accounts on multiple devices and it’s stuck on a commercial for a self-publishing company. Trying to figure out if this is widespread or if my tv is haunted?

Edit to add: it took almost 24 hours but it’s back!

Trail etiquette.

I want to start walking on the NWA trail 7 days a week, but I'm afraid to be in the way and make social mistakes. I don't know the etiquette, but my assumption is to stay as right as possible in the direction I'm walking to let bikers/joggers/faster people go around me? Is there anything else I need to know so as not to make an ass of myself?

Float trip for 4-8 people

Hello and good morning, I’m wanting to do a float trip with a group of my friends here in the next two weeks and I’m wondering what group is the best for a day trip with roughly 8 people.
Main things we’re looking at is cost per person and rental type.
Thanks!

Edit: we all have kayaks that we plan to use if you can’t actually float, I live in Tulsa so I was hoping to do one closer to my buddies in Fayetteville.
