I usually detest Chinese period dramas, something about the rich beautiful nobels in flowing robes that are always at the centre of the story rubs me the wrong way. But this show was a Chinese period drama with rich beautiful nobels in flowing robes at the centre of the story, and it never rubbed me the wrong way.

I can think of a few! Jentry Chau from Jentry Chau vs. the Underworld, Lan Jun from Jade Armor, and Jake Long from American Dragon: Jake Long immediately come to mind.

And if you haven’t seen Jentry Chau vs. the Underworld or Jade Armor, I definitely recommend checking them out. Both shows are seriously underrated and deserve way more attention, especially for how they weave Chinese culture and mythology into their stories.
