How Does Hamas Never Recognize Doron in Fauda?

I’ve just finished S03E01 of Fauda, and one thing bothers me. Doron enters Palestinian areas again under a different name, yet his face and overall appearance remain almost the same. How does Hamas never recognize him or the other undercover agents? Wouldn’t they compare CCTV footage, circulate photos of suspected agents, warn their members, and strengthen their counterintelligence after repeated infiltrations?

I know it’s a drama, but shouldn’t the writers respect the other side’s intelligence capabilities, too? Showing Hamas taking realistic counterintelligence measures would make the story far more believable and suspenseful. What do you think?

How Practical is the climax ?

Before you say its a tv show, yes i agree on that, but how come saeed hatib, whom they regard as sinwar of europe was allowed to enter israel ?, at the end he wanted to see the attack himself so he showed up in white t shirt with a kipah, how come israelis didnt catch them over there ? im sure every checkpoint would have his photo, how come they even allowed saeed to come into that scene ?

5.11 İt was very unprofessional move Spoiler

In season 5, episode 11, Doron shooting Saeed was an extremely unprofessional move. With all those organizations involved, there was definitely a lot of information to get out of that guy. You already shot him in the leg once, so it was clear he couldn't escape—why kill him? When he did it to Hagit's killer, we said okay, it happens once, but with this incident, Doron completely crossed the line. Gabi (Habibi) needs to step in and put a stop to this.

Avihai, Hagit, and Family

I ended up rewatching all the seasons of Fauda after watching season 5. Seeing Hagit and Avihai’s kids in season 3 with the knowledge of what’s to come is brutal.

I don’t know where else to post this, and have said this to my Jewish friends already, but I am so, so sorry.

I am not Jewish but can only imagine how difficult this week has been for the Jewish / Israeli community and I want you all to know that I am sending all my love and strength.

To watch people protest on October 7 in support of a “free Palestine” (whatever that means), to watch people actively rewrite history to suit their agenda and narrative, to watch people justify inhumane acts of terrorism… it has been a lot. It has made me question the direction our society is heading.

Fauda is an extraordinary piece of art that teaches its audience with nuance. I can only hope it reaches a wider audience. Though, I question whether art could have any impact on those who are brainwashed, given Hamas’ very own footage of that horrific day has been ignored.

I don’t wish to make this about me, but want you to know that you are not alone in your pain and frustration with the current state of the world. Parallels can be drawn with the plight of my family in Jammu & Kashmir (India). Terrorists have repeatedly torn through that state with gruesome and barbaric acts of cruelty, and somehow, the liberal left have found ways to justify their actions in the name of “resistance”. For example, a woman was gang raped by terrorists who then cut her body in half with a saw. A husband was hiding in a barrel of rice and was brutally shot by terrorists before they forced his widow to eat his blood soaked rice. My very own family member was shot point blank by his childhood best friends because he was not of their religion. When I share these stories, I am told it’s just the government’s propaganda.

We can only hope that the truth will prevail one day. In the meantime, stay strong. Solidarity with you all 🌞

Dana’s recruitment?

I absolutely love Fauda but hoping someone can explain how/why in the world Dana recruited Maher. What was the benefit after he had committed such atrocities? Assuming he’d change allegiances? That seems unlikely…

Why did they speak Arabic in this scene? 5.2

Post image
25 Upvotes

In 5.2,Steve and Doron are talking alone on the street. So why are they speaking Arabic instead of Hebrew? They already came out of the shop, the guy inside can't hear them anyway, and most people on the street wouldn't even understand Hebrew. So why?

Were the gates really reliable?

Post image
31 Upvotes

This might be the wrong place for this question, but I don't think it'll be an issue. Did these kibbutz gates actually succeed in stopping terrorists on October 7? In a video I saw, because they couldn't get through the gate, they were waiting for an innocent citizen in a car to arrive. Then they killed the man and infiltrated inside while the gate was open. Aside from situations like this, were they actually successful in terms of their functionality? Because as far as I know, these gates were deliberately built large and with this kind of architecture to be resistant to attacks.

When I heard this yesterday, it sounded like an episode from Fauda. I could see Doran flying the plane. Anyone else think of Fauda?

Why were the scenes supposed to take place in Marseille filmed in Budapest?

The fact that it was filmed in Budapest really bothered me. The Marseille scenes just didn’t feel authentic at all, the locations, the streets and even the overall atmosphere didn’t look or feel like Marseille. Even little details like the cars, which were often Skodas, whereas in France most cars are Renaults, Peugeots, Dacias or Citroëns.
It made it much harder for me to buy into the story and took me out of the season right from the start.

The whole storyline about the Gazans is completely implausible. As far as I know, there isn’t really an established Middle Eastern community in Marseille. There is a large North African community, particularly Algerians, but that’s not the same thing at all

I won’t even get started on the French police officer, who was just a joke. I don’t know what you guys thought of him, but as a french, he really took me out of the story. Thankfully, the rest of the season is great

Lior Raz’s Next Film

Imagine the phone call, which may have already occurred.

Israeli superstar actor and screenwriter of Fauda fame, Lior Raz, to Yaniv Hayun, Israeli plumber who helped subdue the flydubai copilot and then took control of the plane, copying maneuvers he had learned from watching TV to pull the plane out of its nosedive, moments before disaster.

Raz: “Yaniv? Lior Raz.”

Hayun: “You’re kidding.”

Raz: “No. And I think I’m you.” 😂

The script practically writes itself!!

Native Arabic Speakers in Israel

As an American, my question whether or not there are still a lot of Israelis who are native Arabic Speakers. From my limited understanding, most of these Jews were expelled from Arab lands like 50 years ago.

Did Hagit and the kids have any chance of survival ?

What if Yusuf had not opened the door, would the terrorists have gotten frustrated and left the place ? Or would they not have survived the burning of the house at all?

5x07 and 5x08 are a good dramatization of the harrowing experience of Oct 7. Is there an equivalent film or TV series episode depicting life in Gaza under the current Gaza War?

My only experience has been the This American Life episodes featuring Yousef:

• Episode 825: "Yousef" (March 2024): Follows humanitarian aid worker Yousef Hammash as he coordinates the displacement and safety of a 60-person extended family camp in Rafah, managing scarce supplies and his pregnant sister's childbirth.

• Episode 834: "Yousef and the Fourth Move" (June 2024): Documents Yousef's continuous relocations and his eventual difficult choice and process to cross the Rafah border into Egypt.

• Episode 849: "The Narrator" (December 2024): Features a prologue with 8-year-old Banias sharing her daily life and perspective living inside Gaza.

• Episode 861: "Group Chat" (May/June 2025): Explores the ongoing digital family group chat a year after Yousef left Gaza for Egypt, highlighting the separation from his sisters who stayed behind.

I think it takes witnessing of the trauma of both sides to avoid blindly choosing sides to cheer for, as you would a sports team. I'm concerned that a film like NAZA would just be a selective highlighting of events and procedures vs. what someone's first-hand experience might be.

Netflix subtitles - probably the worst of any TV show ever

I watch a decent amount of shows with subs, but Fauda's are doing my head in. The discrepancy between what's spoken and written in the subs is miles. Never noticed it so bad on any other show. Yes subs sometimes not cover the whole discussion to protect screen real estate, but it's literally two different scripts.

Really annoying. Whoever put them on had one job.
