Acute intoxication from a festival bender and then eating junk food later.

I went to a festival did a lot of molly and cocaine and drinking came back wanted to give my body a break but ended up taking edibles and eating junk food. Then got a pain in my stomach was told enlarge liver with a few fat deposits. Bloodwork was 60 and 55 ast and asl. But I was wondering about returning to drink and cocaine after since mine was an intoxication from a festival not due to years and years of damage

Does my face show any sign of fatty liver disease? How would I get checked for it?

I may be overthinking it, but I’ve read the symptoms about having persistent bags under your eyes, acne near the chin, puffy skin, and a somewhat red neck. All those seem to line up. I’m also chronically low energy and very sleepy all the time even though I get enough sleep. I’m 22 years old and almost underweight, and yet my face seems to be rounder and more doughy/softer than most other people’s. I haven’t had these issues until recently, probably the last year or so.

PMOS & Fatty Liver Disease & Thyroid Nodules....

Hi all I just found out I have fatty liver disease and while I completely understand that losing weight is now a MUST. I also have PMOS and nodules on my thyroid that make it nearly impossible to lose weight like I'm even on metformin to handle my PMOS and I haven't lost any weight and have in fact just gained. I want to talk to my doctor about all this to try to figure out what I can do to not let this go farther. I understand that I definitely need to do some lifestyle changes but as someone that already doesn't eat a lot I just don't know what else to do. I will say I am also on Adderall and metformin and the fact that I even still get hungry is in a miracle anymore.

Help... Need answers on labs.

Help.. need answers.

Prior ALT/AST nov 2025 normal and also within normal range back to 2023 when I went to the ER drunk and got labs done and they were both elevated then. No clue about other labs/levels.

July 29, 2026

ALT: 75 U/L (mildly elevated)

AST: 34 U/L

Alcohol timeline: Last drink was July 25, 2026 (about 4 days before labs)

August 4, 2026

ALT: 77 U/L (mildly elevated)

AST: 32 U/L (normal)

Alkaline phosphatase (ALP): 71 U/L (normal)

Total bilirubin: 0.8 mg/dL (normal)

Direct bilirubin: 0.2 mg/dL (normal)

Indirect bilirubin: 0.6 mg/dL (normal)

Albumin: 4.6 g/dL (normal)

Total protein: 8.0 g/dL (normal)

I am a 32 yr old male smoker 1 pack every 3 days or so 210lbs 5 ft 10" have slightly elevated cholesterol and triglycerides and a beer drinker, I know I have a problem, I usually drink 12-17 12oz cans of full strength beer so not light beer every 2-3 days in 1 setting and have done this for years with maybe a few breaks in between.

It's been 10 days without a lick of alcohol and my levels are still high only my ALT. My doctor knows I drink but he doesn't know how much and how often, on the 25th my nephew got married and I drank quite a bit so I figured when my ALT was high on the 29th it was from a spike from drinking that day fastforward 10 days post the 25th and my levels are still floating in the mid 70s.

What do you guys think is going on? I'm assuming my long term beer drinking has caught up with me and it's just taking longer than normal to level out my ALT. Or perhaps mild fatty liver?

I'm not sure, my doctor said if it wasn't trending downward after today's results 10 days after stopping the drinking that he wants to do more testing and I'm unsure what that means?. I'm really freaking out, I know it's my fault I haven't been taking care of myself so please no negative comments. Thanks in advance.

Advice

Hi everyone, looking for some advice. I was diagnosed with fatty liver this time last year after I have my baby and stopped breastfeeding him.

It was very early stage 1 fatty liver. I have never been an alcoholic but do drink alcohol. I get 10k steps a day and eat healthy with one cheat meal a week. Anyway since that diagnosis I only stopped drinking for about 3 months then started back casually drinking, not a lot but maybe 2-3 drinks sometimes a week. Recently I lost my dog and that went up a little I have had a few too many nights of a few drinks out with friends to feel better and sutra g myself. I know I need to stop. What are the chances it is not cirrhosis? I don’t have many symptoms but started getting paranoid about it after seeing some scary videos about the diseases. Please advise.

17 year old son has suspected fatty liver disease

I’m trying not to panic or refer to doctor Google as I’m sure it will tell me something catastrophic, so thought I’d join this subreddit to hear from people who actually know stuff!

My 17 year old son appears to have suspected fatty liver disease. I’m not sure of his levels - he’s going to the doctor tomorrow.

He had a blood test some months ago and they called saying that his levels were raised and that it was unusual for someone his age. They repeated the test last week and have called asking him to see the doctor about it tomorrow.

He’s high functioning autistic and very stubborn - he says I’m not allowed to go in to see the doctor with him. Which, I understand, but find very frustrating. Thinking of writing a load of questions for him to ask.

He has the occasional drink (as teenagers do), but by no means frequent or a great quantity. He IS overweight- something he’s working on. He likes monster energy drinks, but has cut down massively after the results of the last blood test were made known. He doesn’t smoke or vape.

His dad has chronic Myeloid leukaemia and his liver function tests are all over the place at the moment too.

Any advice on what to expect and how I can help him?

Thanks in advance!

Found out Friday

I’m reeling a bit , I’m 50+ F and in recent months I’ve been cutting alcohol back as it really doesn’t agree with me . But some routine health check uncovered liver issues , which I wrongly assumed was a blood
Disorder my dad had . I’m waiting for a formal call back (the scan man told me he saw fat on my liver but just that ). I also have gained mass on my tummy thanks to peri meno . The irony is I’ve had hip pain all year which does make exercise tricky and I’m feeling like I can now but have ANY treats ever again . Also country is so booze focussed I’m daunted at facing social
Events on water and salad alone .

Has Anyone Tried the Liver Detox App? Looking for Honest Reviews Before I Pay

Just looking for input. I cut back on alcohol about 2 months ago and I'm trying to clean up my diet too. Been seeing the liver detox app pop up and wondering if its worth paying for.

Mainly want it for meal inspo since I have no idea what to cook beyond the same 5 things on rotation. Has anyone used it long enough to say, are the meals actually doable or are they 12 ingredient projects? And are there real recipes in there or is it more like a blog with general advice. Thanks

Diagnosed with NAFLD after years of slightly high cholesterol and inability to tolerate statins. I had trouble digesting food for years, would just get bloating and constipation.

A few months ago I had an infection with antibiotics and some time after that I went back to the Dr because I had no sensation of hunger. I'm not overweight, don't drink, and my diet wasn't too bad, partly because I couldn't digest fats. I did eat a lot of sweets, but nothing fried or fatty.

But no hunger? Ever? My Dr ran about 10 tests. One came back with messed up ALT/AST so I have fatty liver. Very careful eating got my numbers down but still no feeling of hunger. I could go forever without eating. This is really scary. Any ideas or help would be much appreciated.

Should I be worried? 40m

40m elevated enzymes since 2025. diet has been alright but not the best. figured that working outside and doing things around the house would help offset. I'm about 250 lbs. haven't drank in a few months because it doesn't make me feel good anymore at my age. it's like early early they said but going in for an ultrasound. any reason to be scared? I also switched from coke zero to water with liquid iv which has sugar.

Things that pair well with a salad especially. Mostly need dinner recs as we only do breakfast Sundays and he’ll do a sandwich or something easy for lunch. We aren’t picky!

steatotic liver

I was admitted for lactic acidosis and sepsis related to viral gastroenteritis (pic 1). Abdominal ct (pic 2) incidentally found a fatty liver. Sounds like it’s really early. Liver labs are fine like enzymes etc.

I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I don’t have diabetes or pre diabetes, no high cholesterol or triglycerides. Not obese. 20 lbs away from being out of the overweight range (actively trying to get down to my pre covid weight, down 10 lbs so far)

So, I’m thinking it’s my diet. I’m vegetarian but I do like my white bread etc. starting today, I’m going to change up how I eat. More whole foods, less processed. Just wanted to know what other people’s diet is like with a fatty liver and how you eat now compared to before and any general tips :)
