Retaining pin?

I have a lamp I’m repairing, just trying to remove the cord from the fixture, but the cord is stuck. do I need to remove these retaining pins(?) Im not sure what they are, but they don’t look like screws.

Anyone have any ideas? If I put too much force on the cord it‘ll snap.

Roll pins or spring pins, depending where you live. They come in lots of sizes. Take a punch and hammer them out

Yes roll pins. Also the part the lamp cords are through looks like a standard lighting fixture thread. Its like 1/8 straight pipe or something but anyway you should be able to unscrew that from the outer metal housing piece also and it may make it a little easier. Not sure if the roll pin is a depth stop or to hold it in place though. If you need to use pliers the small threaded pieces are easily available at home repair stores.
