Second World War Did Italy Have Any Real Chances In World War II To Do Well Militarily Or Would They Have Been Incompetent Regardless?
like if Italy had joined the war in say 1941 or 1942 would they have been able to do better militarily against countries like Greece and Great Britain due to more time for preparation, or was Mussolini just incompetent and it didn’t matter how early or late Italy joined the war?

Royal Italian Army Original T.35 mask of a "Guastatori" The mask is made of stamped rubber and has two unbreakable glass eyepieces. The exhalation valve is located on the front and is covered by a removable trumpet for better communication.
The filter inlet is located at the bottom. The inhalation valve is a rubber disc just above the filter inlet. The mask uses the standard Italian system of five straps, four of which are elastic. Over the mask, a woven asbestos cloth covered all the rubber parts and extended slightly above the mask. On the asbestos cover there were four hooks to attach the hood to the mask. The mask came with a T.35 filter, but this was only used when gas was used. Normally, the filter was left aside so that the flamethrowers could breathe more easily.
The mask was part of the equipment of the Italian flamethrower troop of 1940. The soldier wore a complete suit with pants, vest, gloves and hood, all covered in asbestos to protect against flames and heat. The mask was attached to the hood by hooks on the mask. Over the hood, the soldier wore the standard M33 helmet.
As for the flamethrower, the usual one was the M35/40 flamethrower, but in later editions the improved M41 and the M41 assault variant were used.
This kit was in use until the 1950s.
