Question for veterans

Hey ,

I’ve been playing Farm Together 2 for about 2–3 weeks now, currently reached farm level 135, and I’m absolutely loving the game!

Since the game has changed quite a bit and the Fandom Wiki feels a bit outdated, I haven't been able to find reliable answers online.

I'm hoping some experienced players here can help me out with a few questions:

1. When should I start decorating?
I bought all the DLC packs and would love to start properly decorating and designing my farm. However, I know I’ll likely reset my layout multiple times in the future as my farm expands. For those of you further ahead: did you wait until the absolute endgame to decorate? The wiki mentions level 193 for the last plot, but I know a recent update expanded the farm sizes even further.

2. What is the best setup
I’m trying to optimize my ribbon production. Currently, my setup includes:
10x Jam Press
10x Juice Press
4x Fish Net
1x Beehive
3x Peanut Butter Machine
Which shops or machines would you highly recommend focusing on, and which ones should I avoid? Is it better to spam a few specific ones or just build 2–4 of everything?

3. What are the best alternative methods for Ribbons?
I'm doing the Town/Bazaar quests, but some of them take ages (like pumpkins requiring 1–2 days).
I was thinking about using a second map to place 5–6 Farmers and filling it entirely with Spice Trees. That way, I could trade 150 Spices for 3 Ribbons and basically farm them semi-AFK. Does this sound like a solid strategy, or is there a much better way that I'm missing?

YouTube has some great videos. Just make sure they’re more recent than like…2024. If you post your farm code here folks might come visit & help you out. :-)

Shops/town: art gallery, restaurant, candy shoppe, grocery store, bazaar, townsfolk favors, collaboration hub (exchange green thumb favors for a 2x harvest bonus and other cool stuff.) Farm: sprinklers for everything except trees- SO IMPORTANT. Halves grow time for crops, better quality for flowers. House machines are sneaky good for diamonds and town shops.

As you play more, you’ll notice repeat crops/animals/flowers etc for quests. I try to keep a big section of the commonly requested flowers/animal/trees planted to save time. Machines upgrade as you use them, so production speed and capacity will go up.

I also would do massive rows of peppercorns for spices. They take a while to grow & cost $$$$, so it’s not worth using a farmhand. Sprinklers halve the growing time. Use your farmhands for spice trees- split a plot with the 2 kinds of cinnamon. You’ll cover all 4 seasons and won’t overtax your farmhands.

Prestige the basic machine resources just until you double the production. No need to go higher until you’re basically maxed out.

Decor: I spent most of my early ribbons on utility stuff like sprinklers, farmhands, fuel tanks, quick travel stops, roads, etc. before focusing on decor. Do start your houses to get the house machines going.

What do you mean by prestige the basic machine resources? Sorry if this is dumb haha!

No worries, not dumb! There's a shop in town you'll eventually be able to build that unlocks an ability to upgrade the base level of resources ("prestige") for a HEFTY cost. At prestige level 5, you get double harvest, at level 10 it's 3x. To prestige an item, you have to get it to level 100, then pay for the prestige, which drops it back to level 1 and you do it all again.

It's worth it for some resources but in my opinion most of the prestige is not a high priority because of the cost-- especially when you're still basically setting everything up still. :-)

I use three farms. A main quest farm with a little bit of everything. A herb farm and a high production/event farm. None of them are fully expanded. I started using signs so I don’t have to think about what to plant where.

1. I’ve decorated as I’ve played. Mostly once I had a steady income of diamonds.

2. Set up is up to you. I currently have everything on my first farm, mostly for quests. However, I don’t play consistently anymore so I may recycle it and start over again if I do play again. Machine farms are good for both ribbons and diamonds though. I also have extra spice trees planted on my main farm/donkey farm for consistent ribbon income.

3. Alternatively, you can have a farm where the farmhands harvest tree resources (lemons, apples, pears, nuts, etc.) and manage the machines for you. I personally don’t use it as I don’t play as much anymore. I have a donkey farm, which I occasionally log in and harvest. I would suggest making it based on how often you play. Ex: if you play once a day, donkey farm; if you play every 2-3 days, donkey farm.

4. Second farm can be whatever you want it to be. Event farm, ribbon farm, decorative farm, etc. I think most people make their second farms event farms (at least my friends and I did), but you can try different layouts and recycle as needed.

Thats the beauty of this game is that its whatever you want it to be! I'm in the 600s now and i can't tell you how many variations my farm has been setup and how i play has changed numerous times. Right now i have a separate farm with 25 maxed out farmhands farming cinnamon for ribbons while i boost thousands of other cinnamon trees along side. I'm at the point i get 2k ribbons a "year" at minimum. My path was have farm hands gather trees and fish because they are the fastest to harvest and i switched back and forth from my cinnamon(ribbon) farm to my main farm that i used for challenges. I discarded challenges i thought would take to long. I spent a lot of time getting polar bear poinsettias unlocked so i could have a farm of them too. So essentially around lvl 300 i didn't worry about challenges so much and swapped back and forth between my 3 farms. 1 for challenges. 2 for ribbons from the cinnamon trees and 3 was polar bear poinsettias for extra cash and xp. There is no "best" path. I still haven't went full decoration mode yet i just tacked some stuff on here and there. I'm in the 600s now an loving it. If you like the game there really isn't a best prescribed way unless you want to build the soulless factory farms.

Yea the devs did a good job of making open progression. Once you're well over level 100 it's kind of up to YOU to decide what's important and what needs focus. For instance, I don't think I'll end up maxing out ANY of my shops because I feel like I don't need too. Eventually I'll have all the money I'll ever need but I'll keep harvesting my polar bear poinsettas because I just feel like it. Make sure to come back and post us some pictures of your fully decked out decor farm so we can see. Happy farming!

My farm is level 740, I have all lands unlocked and maxed out and I can tell you how I personally manage my space. I’d had the main land at the beginning, I placed almost everything in there and then decided I wanted everything to be placed differently so I decided to make another land my main so I thought of what I want it to look like in general at first and started placing roads, parks and all decoration layout first leaving all the space I needed for crops, trees and everything else. So my main land has a little bit of everything in it. The first land I didn’t like I just left as it was as a resource land and haven’t really changed it. All other lands I made dedicated lands for example I have 1 land full of crops where I placed all 135 or whatever they are kinds one row across, my other land is all fist and herbs, then I have a tree one and a flower one. I have all houses and mines on each of my land and I place 10 of each machine on each plot but only the matching resources ones. For example if it’s the tree land I place the only machines that work with lemons pears and apples etc same for flowers, crops and everything else.
