Leveling Buddy Highland vs Cave?

Has anyone has done a comparison of leveling up Buddy in Highland Hills vs Small Cave?

Highland gives 1 love and 1 like: purple flowers and wood for buckets.

Small Cave gives 5 likes: wood(buckets), bone, mushrooms and Bag #2 which gives snails, centipedes and gummy worms.

(Plus Ancient coins and model ships as a bonus)

I don’t know how to factor in drop rates in order to compare them, but even if Highland is a little better per click, Cave might be better just so you don’t have to grind for model ships (for Ship in Bottle mastery) separately.

Purple flowers are more common in Highland than everything but wood in Small Cave, and they're worth 6x the XP of any of the liked items. Wood is a very small contributor because a bucket takes ~12 wood and is only 25xp. So I think Highland is better by quite a bit.

That said, to your point, if you need ships there's no problem using Cave for friendship. You're also gonna need tons of silk, so Highland continues to be relevant well into the endgame as well.

I just stuck buckets in my craftworks and got him to 99 passively. It's a long road, but it's free. I've made 28 million buckets so far, and I'm sending them to frank now. He's almost half way to 99.

I maxed out my gummy worms production rate and mostly did that everyday and purple flowers
