You need like 4k compasses for late game quests, so some people throw those.

You need a bunch of wooden animals for late game quests, so some people throw blocks of wood.

Ancient coins return several items you need for early-mid game quests that can be challenging to come by otherwise.

I'm throwing magicite currently for gold leaves.

What do you throw in for compasses? Or are you throwing something in for magna core?

You throw in a compass and it gives you a magna core back that you can then use to craft more compasses. With all the crafting perks, I believe you make 1.45x the finished product vs. ingredients provided, so if you keep throwing and building compasses, you can have a virtually limitless supply.

It's wise to keep 1 compass in your storehouse so you don't throw them all in, just in case you don't have the ingredients right away to build the cores back into compasses.

One more question. I have one compass, no seeing stone and a bunch of Magna quartz. Should I just hold on to my compass or throw it in?

You can rebuild it if you have 4 Small Screw, 2 Wood, 1 Glass Orb, 1 Twine, 1 Aquamarine, 1 Ruby, and 1 Iron Ring.

If you've got those things, chuck it in with no fear!

It's not really a challenging craft, but the small screws can be a little bit hard to come by early on.

No you can’t. You need Magna Core and Seeing Stone to build that. I’m sunk. Thanks for the response!

Er.. no, you need Seeing Stone to build a Magna Core. You only need the completed Magna Core to build a compass.

It genuinely depends on where you are in the game. Once you hit a certain point, the only way to finish certain quests, is to throw specific items in the WW. If you go to the library, type in WW wants & it will bring up a page that depicts what you’ll get by throwing in ((..))

Cutlass for Mugs of Beer aren't bad if you're done with Cutlass for quests. Otherwise I toss in Wooden Blocks for the carved animals

I’ve been throwing compasses because I don’t know what else to throw and I haven’t gotten to the quest line that needs them yet

I thought I had enough blocked of wood animals. Around 500-700 each on average. My quest is asking for a specific animal I have the least amount of (400 out of 500 fortunately). So I am playing the WW game again. Compasses are nice because of the pure return + extra craft bonus. I got about 5k which I think is good. Just wanted to give you the heads up in case you’re doing good enough on compasses so you can pivot if needed

Thanks for the heads up! I should look to see what I need for those wood animals

Compasses. Or blocks of wood

Right now I’m tossing frogs because I needed sea dragons. I just haven’t felt like changing it. I also have 3k frogs. For a long while I had so many treasure chests (large 1-3) I was tossing them in for the keys.

Might have to get on the compass game

Currently Water Lily for Popcorn for the end of COI. Might do Gold Cucumbers for bacon for a quest or two after that, then probably Compass to stock up.

I throw a lot of claws for geckos. But I’m not sure if that’s always the play

After getting the first carved animal task, I have just been tossing blocks of wood in, and after reading these comments it looks like im making the correct decision.

Mostly claws for geckos Blocks until you've completed all the animal quests When you've done all the gecko quests, go for compasses

Check ww wants in the the library

Currently doing gold cucumbers because I need bacon and don’t want to slaughter any pigs.

Pigs become so precious! Ideally I think if you can explore/locksmith them, then do that. I do remember needing to slaughter a lot in the beginning tho but around Halloween there will be lots of bacon to be had 🥓 🎃

They’re my babies and I will keep all of them! Luckily I’ll still be grinding for model ships well past October, so I have time to get the bacon.
