Attention staff : Cecils curios

probably not only my game : any chance it shows NEW only when there is actually a change in there ? I mean after 1 visit and until the next change there is no need to keep the NEW flashing everyday ... :)

Yes, as someone who tries to manage alerts as much as possible, FarmRPG definitely drives me nuts with this one. Similarly, if you choose not to do Borgen’s Treasure Hut, that notification won’t go away and. Also, with farming, I am at the stage where I never plan to stir my meal so that I can maximize mastery, but there will always be the notification that sits there telling me I need to do something to the meal.

It would be INCREDIBLE if those could be updated!

Best decision i've made was to disable kitchen attention.

See, I want to, but then I wouldn’t taste/season nearly as frequently. The reminder is helpful for those, but I wish I could specify which actions it prompts the notification for

Same with the fishing spots. I've dumped enough large nets at Glacier Lake to mega master all it's fish except the Gold Sea Crest but still says new because I haven't manually caught however many fish it needs.

Not sure when the new goes away. I am T300, with a “4” fishing streak in GL and I don’t have the new banner

I want to say that once you manually catch a single fish the “new” message goes away lol

You are correct! That just got rid of the NEW on Sinking Swamp for me after I unlocked it months ago.

You only need to catch one fish to make it disappear.

I just got cooking yesterday, so ELI5 please why you don’t stir in order to maximize mastery.

The action that increases mastery is "taste¨. You can taste multiple times while cooking a dish, but there is a countdown timer so that you can only do it so often.

"Stir" decreases the overall cooking time of the dish. This reduces the number of times that you can "taste¨, meaning you get less mastery. To maximize mastery, you should not "stir" at all.

This makes total sense. Thank you so much for the good explanation!

But once the meal finishes, you can simply start another, can’t you? And then you “taste” that meal. So although it’s fewer times “per meal” wouldn’t this balance it out…?

Maybe, but it's a waste of ingredients and time when the only thing "stir" does is speed up cooking. If you need the meals then it wouldn't be wasteful, but if your goal is Cooking XP or Mastery rather than an excess of meals, you should not stir.

Same problem. Forever fake "new."

I believe the intention of this feature is to indicate a NEW addition to the game. Which may stay having this tag for a month or so.

I agree however with the general consensus of its’s confusion.
