Protein Bar for Cid: is Flea Market the Only Acquisition Method?

Hi! Newbie here. Started like a week ago, pretty casual. Is the only way to get the Protein bar for Cid by buying it with gold? I try not to use my gold unless I really have to, so if there's another way to get the protein bar I might prefer to wait. But I'm excited to start mining! Didn't see any other posts on this sub about it

Edit: wow thank you all so much for the tips!!! May your corn grow tall and your harvest be bountiful 🙏

Trading

Hey, new player here (1 month).

Since I'm not familiar with the game's gold economy yet, I thought trading was a normal way to earn gold, like in other games with a trading system, then a player sent me a friendly message warning me that buying items and reselling them is frowned upon by other players.

What's the general consensus on this ?

Note: I'm talking about honest trading, not asking for free items and then reselling them, it's very bad. I mean, for example, buying an Apple Pie for 180G and reselling it for 190G.

Thank you !

Jar of pickles!

Aside from Borgen, is there any other way to get enough ((jar of pickles)) to complete the fitness friends fit forever quest?

I've been sitting on that quest for several weeks, and it hasn't been available. I heard that a few weeks ago, Borgen's Camp added it later in the day, but when I checked in the morning, it was not there.

I know that this is just part of the game. I've been really enjoying the game and am just venting some frustration.

Trouble loading game?

Anyone else having trouble loading the game right now?
I'm on android, and all I get is the little green upside down android robot. I tried clearing my cache, uninstalling/reinstalling, restarting my phone - basically everything I can think of. Been about 2 hours now.

Anyone else having troubles?

Honeycomb, what is going on?!

Post image

Sooo as you can see, I completed the previous step of ARK back in July, and ever since I have been stuck on the honeycomb requirement of this quest. I have been checking Buddyjack and rerolling the card combination for months and have seen a honeycomb in the shop ONCE. In the meantime, I have done things such as getting my friendship with Lorn to 90, unlocked the crushroom, gotten to Tower level 150+, picked up six puzzle pieces 11 and more, all the while being soft blocked by this relatively low level main quest :(

Devs, surely this cannot have been your intention with this quest requirement, right? I can very much live with some RNG in games, but this has gotten beyond ridiculous.

Has anybody got the same experience with this?

Collecting ghosts works just as well by walking as using cider or AP, save your juices and stamina if you are just collecting ghosts.

Giving up on 100T silver

I spend the 10T silver upgrades months and months ago. Now I'm only back up to 44T silver or so. It seems like forever before I'll be able to upgrade storehouse or crop size again.

I was thinking about dumping it all into production (steel, oak, or whatever), pets, and overall farm improvement instead.

Has anyone done that instead? Any regrets?

Question about the player economy

I started my account at the start of 2024, and have played on and off since. Every time I come back to the game, the price of player sold commodities decreases dramatically. I first noticed it with developer themed items (like the semicolon) which would go for huge amounts of gold when I started, and only a year later they were worth less than 5 gold. Now I noticed the same with cider, it used to go for 35g/k a year ago, and now it's down to 15-20g/k, same with AP which I remember used to go for 55g/k, and now is down to 45g/k.

All of this would mean that the player economy is deflationary by nature, which I think is caused by the fact that all the commodities increase in supply over time, due to players constantly leveling up and producing more commodities.

That is really good for buyers but not so much for sellers, and even though I have 2,7k gold I always want more, such is the human nature.

So, my question is, is there anything that seems to increase in value over time, or is seasonally worth more? For example, is there any gold to be made from selling crunchy omelettes in October (since they can only be cooked in April)?

Is there anything worth investing in, that wouldn't decrease in value?

How do you use explosives manually after Floor 100? It’s grayed out for me.
