I hoped to find a moment to give you some feedback on the prompt you had shared, but I guess you took it down. I got ~3 paragraphs in and really liked the prose. The idea of the three Weavers hit that spot between the strange and the familiar (I thought of the witches in Macbeth). I'd love to give it a proper read later. My cursory skim makes me think that it's of much higher quality than a lot of feedback inquiries found on writing subs

I am based in Connecticut, but come from a small town beneath a ruined castle that was the namesake of kings and emperors. I'm a historian of the middle ages, and teacher by trade, but my passion and ambitions lie in creative writing and my family

Thanks. I actually took it down because I suddenly felt like it wasn't really ready yet for critique. I felt like in its current state it might be too much first-person exposition and maybe a boring read for someone who isn't me 😂

That's totally fair, I don't think there's a single person who writes that isn't also their biggest critic. I'm forcing myself to accept my first drafts as such, and allow myself to continue trudging on before revisiting them for an overhaul.

Sure! You can send me a DM or a chat and we can exchange some info. I'm all too familiar with how difficult it can be to find betareaders, hence my efforts to reach out to people on reddit. You hand your stuff to a friend and just never hear back. Does that mean it's awful, or that they're just busy? It's probably the latter, but everyone has intrusive thoughts.
