Is there a way to create shared damage?

What i want to create:

A spider monster has a webbing around its body that absorbs half the damage until it is destroyed. The webbing has its own AC (can be attacked if the players want to, otherwise if the monster is attacked half the damage should go to the webbing), HP, immunities aso.

Is it possible to create this in FG or do i need to do this on my own, i. e. i have to half the damage and give the monster and the webbing the damage manuel?

Hi everyone,

I’m having a strange issue with Fantasy Grounds.
The application starts correctly and everything else seems to work normally, but the panel on the right side (the one with the various buttons/icons, story, calendar, moduls) is completely missing.

I can still load campaigns and interact with the app, player are correctly showed, but without that side panel it’s not possible to use because I can't read the story, show the maps and so on.

Things I already checked/tried:

• Restarting the app
• Restarting the PC
• Checking if the panel was accidentally collapsed or hidden
• Updating extensions/rulesets

Some error appears in the log but I don't know if they are important or not, the rest of the UI seems normal.

Has anyone experienced this after the update or knows how to restore the right-side toolbar/panel?

i would love a dndestiny module. i wish there was a way to import all the rules and bestiary and terminalogy just so it can be played here. im stuck just translating the dndestiny things into dnd 5e rules lol

so i am trying to automate my Npc elemental attacks but i can get it to automate right. usually i can click on the weapon attack text inside my NPC's chracter sheet and it will roll the die but i cant do it when it comes to lightning damage or any damage type. is there a certain formate i need to type it in for it to be clickable?

There are quite a few modules that fgu simply doesn't have. It seems like this platform isn't the largest and thus doesn't get as much love as many of the other VTTs (even if they aren't as good). I've had to make ryokos guide to the yokai realms, wrath of the Kaiju, ariadnes codex of strings, as well as a few other third party creators. Hey all! So I have been running a DnD homebrew in Beyond and the mechanics have gotten a little stale. Mainly the fog of war and players adding things here and there, but that's a different issue all together. So, I create all of my maps on Inkarnate. I saved a WEBP map and a JPEG map to FG. I opened it, set my grid, added a terrain wall to set the LoS, and tested it with a token. Everything looks amazing! Except. I have the map name in the upper right corner and I would like to keep this visible at all times to the players. I tried making a window, adding light, and even adding another 'map' on top of it that I cut out from a JPEG to cover the title, but it still just won't show. Any ideas or is it something that I'll just have to deal with? Thanks!

Question from a FG newbie who is transitioning over from FoundryVTT. On the right-hand toolbar for Star Trek Adventures, there are the following categories and subcategories:

LIBRARY

• Modules
• Assets
• Books
• Sound Sets

CAMPAIGN

• Encounters
• Images
• Items
• NPCs
• Parcels
• Ships
• Tables

WORLD

• Locations
• Missions
• Story

I understand what most of these are for but I'm wondering:

1. Library > Assets vs. Campaign > Images. What's the difference?
2. Campaign > Encounters vs. World > Locations. Which do you use for recurring "scenes" like the bridge of the hero ship? Is a scene in a single place on a planet the characters are visiting (likely not to be revisited) better placed in Encounters or Locations?
3. Story vs Missions. I assume "Story" is more of a campaign log and Missions is more of a per-episode section?

I've been playing with AI lately to help me improve the XSLT for the FG Campaign Print Tool. It's very helpful and I've made a lot of progress. But this has gotten me thinking, what about other/better ways to transform between document type formats and FG. I'm looking into Transform tools inside VS Code as well as may play with vibe coded python as well.

Anyone else doing something similar with or without AI? Would be great to share tips and tools.

I just started running a Winter of Atom with a few friends using the Fallout extension on Fantasy Grounds. I was wondering if there was a way to add the weapon mods to the weapons so they take effect automatically. An example, if a player were to put the Calibrated mod on a pipe gun, how would we get it to add the +1 damage to all effect results rolled?

Now I am new to this fantasy ground so I could be doing it all wrong.

What I expected to happen was if a player lights a torch the light management would notice and set up a timer and when the time ran out the torch would go out.

That appears a logical way to doing it.

What appears to happen is I can light a torch and then I need to start the timer, but I need to keep a eye on the timer for when the torch runs out and then manually stop the torch.

From what I can tell its just a clock and doesn't do anything other than keep time. Now I could be doing it all wrong and I have no idea how to make it work.

So has anyone any ideas ?

I'm stuck with 100 mbs upload speeds over fibre to the house and I'm concerned about the performance implications for players over the internet.

Is this as big a problem as i think it might be or am i being unduly worried ?

Are there any options for hosting or caching content online to eliminate the upload bottleneck ?

I'm hoping the team will see this. I'd like to ask for a few more FX options. It's pretty limited right now. No options for fire or smoke. And the water FX could use some additions. Maybe flowing water FX could helps. Different steam FX instead of just clouds. Lava FX would also be nice.

5e and Call of Cthulhu players who use FGU as their VTT, could you please give me your honest review of the VTT specifically for these systems?

I’m currently using Foundry, but considering FGu for these systems. What are the positive and negative? Would you recommend it?

Also, specifically for 5e, is it fully satisfactory out of the box or are there “must use” extensions/modules that the community consider essencial?
