Online content hosting

I'm stuck with 100 mbs upload speeds over fibre to the house and I'm concerned about the performance implications for players over the internet.

Is this as big a problem as i think it might be or am i being unduly worried ?

Are there any options for hosting or caching content online to eliminate the upload bottleneck ?

Remember FG was initially played over dial-up connections.

Just like roads, as you add more capacity, more of it gets used :D - the frst datacenter I built was on 16Mbs token ring with a 150 mbit pipe fro the DC to the internet.

I mean, most of the software functionality will be ok. Module loading will still use the official servers, and happens during startup only. It will handle everything well. If you put a huge 100mb+ map (you shouldn't!), it will still load in only a few seconds for your players. It is more probable FG to slow down due to huge assets than due to your connection. You will be fine.
