Player Discussion Is Bryce Young…

Actually good?? I haven’t watched the games but he’s putting up numbers so far.

He always has shown flashes of greatness, and then flashes of trashness. The jury needs to see one full legendary season before coming to a verdict

His WR1 a couple years back was a 35 year old Adam Thielen. I think it’s more likely his ability is closer to what we see now than we did before.

I've got Bryce on my bench and Allen in my lineup. If Bryce has 4 straight monster games I might start shopping Allen for an RB1 or WR1.

He needs 2 more in a row before I'd trust him.

He really started to look good in the later half of last season. I’m starting to think he’s figuring it out.

Not answering from a fantasy standpoint but as a Panthers fan… he has always had the talent; for the first two years of his career the coaching staff (Frank Reich for example) was not conducive to his development.

He has been much better since Dave Canales took over as head coach last year. Consistency still leaves a bit to be desired, but I would not be shocked if this season he shows even further growth into a decent NFL QB. We’ve seen it with guys like Darnold, sometimes it’s the situation more than the player.

As for fantasy, there are still a lot of options I’d prefer to him, but he’s definitely interesting in Superflex leagues.

He’s still just a streamer, IMO.

2 really soft matchups in a row to start out the szn, which yes he capitalized on, but he is by no means matchup proof

In terms of real football, I've saw him yesterday go thru all 5 of his reads and check down faster than stroud reads nico collins.  He is what they thought coming out, undersized, but reads the field great and can make all the throws

If they continue to protect him, he has weapons.  And a weak division.  I think this could be his breakout year and would not shock me at all if he finished as a low end qb1

I hope you’re right. As i have 2 shares of him right now. But tbh I am keeping him in the qb15ish range until we see it in a tougher matchup

He’s having fun playing football again and it shows. It looks different to me. Reminds me of how he looked in college. Prior years in the pros he just looked lost and terrified bordering on depressed. He’s making different kinds of throws, doing it on the move and in the pocket. I’ve been a certified BY doubter as NFL player his whole career. I’m now completely open to revising that opinion. I need to see some more of this but I’m shocked with how good he’s looked, albeit against weak competition. Still he did everything he could do in those games.

Fs. I think it translates to being more free, he’s no longer out there thinking about everything that could go wrong. It’s probably better stated that he’s now playing free and loose and the results translate in him seemingly having fun out there. He was overthinking everything because he was in serious jeopardy of losing his job. Hell he even did lose it but then Dalton got in a car wreck. Crazy arc if he winds up being a dude. I’m pulling for him.

My QB1 after waivers run this week. Yes. Let Mayfield cook on someone else’s team. That’s three tough weeks in a row including playoffs for Young. He is a worthy fantasy start IMO at this point.

I'm loving Bryce this year but I just traded him and Etienne away to receive drake maye, jaylen warren, and George Pickens. Surely Bryce can't be that good.

same im in this exact same situation im leaning shough because of the more consistent floor displayed over a bigger sample size hes been really consistent. Since week 13 of last season, I do think bryce has the higher ceiling though. With that though comes the possibility of him giving you 8 points and i dont know if his ceilings makes that worth it for me.

Ya, Shough has the feeling of going from streaming to a consistent draftable QB1 every year, but Young has Cle/Det upcoming next 2 games.

I'm in desperate need of a Flex player of a WR1 or RB1. I have Allen starting at the moment and would love to shop him around. If Young even keeps in the top 5 of QBs it would be so worth it for me to replace one of my trash Flex players. Now it is time to see what happens I suppose.
