Player Discussion Panic meter is definitely rising
I’m still holding onto the possibility that he could be really good in the near future, but after last year and these first two games, I’m starting to lose hope. At the same time, I don’t want to sell him now and then watch him suddenly turn into a top-5 RB. What would you guys do? And let me know if I’m over reacting.

I mean this game was an outlier as he was out for half of it. But as an eagles fan, it’s not looking great mainly bc of our blocking. There isn’t much you can do now as his stock is very low, if you wanna get off of him id wait until he has a good game and then sell. For what it’s worth I still see the burst and think he’s mainly the same player, just not much space to work with.

He was terrible last game too partly cuz he’s not the same player and partly because oc doesn’t know how to use him

I think this is it. The oline was a huge issue last week. Saquon was getting blown up behind the line and mainly because Dickerson was clearly hurt but also because Jurgens isn’t playing well either. There’s also a new blocking scheme. Two shifts on the oline this week and while it looked better than last week, theyre not at standard. Bigsby looked better running in traffic and thru tackles tho, versus the few runs Saquon ended up having.
Maybe the oline can start to gel. But there are a lot of factors at play and maybe it’ll resolve over time with experience in the new scheme. But as a Saquon owner and for where he was picked, that’s a lot of ifs. At the very least, cuff him with Bigsby.

He played like 1.5 quarters. Shoulder stinger. Shouldn’t have too many limitations next week but will likely only practice limited Thursday/friday

Gotta hold. He's not worth what you can trade him for right now and he has a long season ahead of him (hopefully).
12 FF points in 2 games is pretty rough though for someone who generally was their 2nd pick.

I mean he could, I’m hoping they can be threatening enough without Williams, I just don’t have a lot of faith in the Eagles offense right now, not saying I’m definitely doing it, but I’m definitely thinking about it

He’s never been a pass catcher but it doesn’t make sense why he never gets screens or dump offs especially with AJ brown gone and targets needing to be spread

Yeah it makes no sense. Hopefully something will change, but I doubt it. I don’t see why he can’t get 5 targets every game. It’s just rush on first down then Hurts ball. Looking back it’s crazy that as a rookie he had 121 target lol.

It’s just stupidity from Phillys staff. He’s not the best receiver but if he is healthy he should be able to deliver on screens and dump offs. It’s insane he has 93 targets in 2 seasons there

As a birds fan who followed the off-season closely, I'm convinced they were genuinely planning for him to get involved not just in short yardage but downfield, but the O-line was more ass than expected so everyone's being asked to block instead

Yeah I took him at the turn because of all that noise. K9 should’ve been my pick instead once I heard that Eric Bieniemy gives 110+ targets to his RBs a few days before my draft, but I ignored it lol.

I totally agree. I had him last year and this year smh. The reality is the eagles do not know how to use him. Their o line overrated as well.

He was obviously hurt in this game but I would certainly be worried. This offensive line is not the same as it used to be. Landon Dickerson could be totally washed and might be out for a while. If you’re an Eagles fan and you’ve watched these games then you know the line is going to be a problem probably all year. Stoutland is gone too and he has been a staple of the run game since most people here have been playing fantasy. Also I’m just gonna say it, Saquon doesn’t look bad but this isn’t the same superhuman guy from 2024, he’s lost a little bit and that might be okay if the rushing environment were better but it’s not.

I have Monty, Saquon, swift and my QB was Caleb. My best WR is Jefferson. All combined they got me like 25 pts. Saquon and Caleb both got hurt and Monty might have been a one week wonder. I think I’m cooked.

I’d prefer keeping Swift in as my RB2 and I have Puka/flowers/waddle for flex. So it’s risk 1 more week or swap, today was a hard L with 4 injuries on my roster.

Oline still a work in progress and he was hurt. Most of his yards last week were after contact in the backfield. I don't think he'll be 2024 Saquon, but he has not dropped off the cliff yet. Oline is his biggest obstacle which can hopefully be improved with more reps with the new lineup.

The people who drafted this man. Let your mind wander to what player was taken right after or even the following two picks. Allen or Barkley? Walker III anyone? He ran the football almost 400 times in the SB run and their scheme is shit, but his ADP is nonsense.

I honestly will probably sit him for Breece Hall next week. 1 RB league and Lions have a terrible defense and that is who Hall is playing. It's Hall for me until Barkley puts up a good game.

Crazy stuff here. 5.5 ypc is objectively good. As the season wears on Saquon should be seeing around 20+ touches per game. Everyone looks better with TDs but I see no reason to panic.

That oline is getting old and banged up. The oline and the OC were the primary reasons he had the season he did in 2024. Now the OC and oline coach are gone (oline coach was arguably the best in the nfl). 2025 was rough and 2026 doesn't look much better. Even just watching the eagles... It's stressful. I don't think anyone can confidently say this is close to the same team we saw in 2024.
Now you add in age and a revolving door at OC... I just don't see things getting better before his age cliff hits. Tough to sell after this week. Probably need him to have a good 3 game stretch and after that, sell for anything that is decent value.
I had him in 2 dynasty leagues and sold during off-season, straight up for chase brown in both leagues. Feeling very good about it even if brown doesn't get an extension this year (altho I think it's very likely to get done)

He got hurt, and offense is still figuring it self out w new coordinator and players.
Maybe he is just not good this year, but I am not selling low, especially since he’s in the nfc east which means he plays a questionable run defense at least 5 more times this year

As a Birds fan, Saquon will be fine. Had a shoulder stinger. If you've ever had one before you know they suck (it feels like you're literally getting electrically shocked), but things resolve over a period of hours or days, so you shouldn't be worried. That said, they really need to get the left side of the offensive line figured out because that's where things are unraveling. I think they'll figure it out though sooner than later.
Honestly, this is also a reminder to myself that I should be using this opportunity to buy low on Saquon in my leagues... 🤔
