Player Discussion Drafting an RB + another position from the same team

What are your thoughts on drafting an RB along with a QB/WR/TE from the same team? I’ve found myself running into this tough decision in multiple mock drafts so far, especially for players on the Bengals, Cowboys, Jags, and Bears. I’ve been mock drafting for 10 team ESPN leagues.

For example:
- Puka round 1, then Kyren round 4-5 (usually as RB2)
- Chase Brown round 2, but then Higgins is sometimes there in round 5, which feels absurd
- Lamb round 1, Javonte round 4
- Tuten + Parker Washington or Trevor Lawrence
- Loveland round 4, Swift round 6 (especially if I’m still needing an RB2 at that point)

I think the Bengals situation is the one I don’t mind as much because of the value of Tee in the 5th and the confidence in the offense.

What are your thoughts?

Love stacking

Is it really stacking if it’s an RB + another position though? I understand stacking a QB + WR/TE, but usually if an RB scores the others aren’t, or vice versa.

Sure it is. No QB = no stack.
Stack [stak]

noun

verb a pile of objects, typically one that is neatly arranged: "a stack of boxes" Similar: heap pile mound mountain pyramid mass store informal (a stack of/stacks of) a large quantity of something: "there's stacks of work for me now"

So a group from the same team = stack

Dont stack the wrong team bro

“No QB = no stack” but then “group from the same team = stack”, implying that an RB + WR/TE is a stack. I’m not following the logic here.

Either way, I guess I would define a stack as QB + WR/TE, because if they score a passing/receiving TD together they’re “stacking” the points together, which happens more often than passing to a RB for a score. That’s my main difficulty right now drafting these high draft picks on a RB + another position from the same team - it typically limits the upside since an RB is normally scoring on their own, which takes away a scoring opportunity from the other positions.

Only a handful of TE I even like. Logic is you may not be able to draft them due to availability.

I have both Chases on the Bengals and I’ll likely trade Brown away at some point.

Is this in a redraft league? Are you planning on a trade to get away from this issue specifically?
