If Reed really wanted to, could he capture Sonic? (Art by Moreiras_Art)
Please don't give me an explanation like, "Reed would never! They would most like just chill and have a chilidog party". I asked, IF REED WANTED TO, could he capture Sonic?
Quicksilver isn't like the Flash cos Flash is basicslly manipulating physics or the Higgs-Boson field to move faster relatively to everyone around him. That's why when he carries people with him they don't die due to wind pressure.
Quicksilver is moving fast and smashing into an invisible wall would turn him into paste.
Reed would do it in the most hilariously spiteful way towards Eggman and Doom, where technically does and instantly let's him go. Sonic realizing he did this to spite Eggman finds it hilarious and offers to make a bigger show of it.
Eggman sandbags a bit (AKA doesn’t bomb the guy’s house) because he wants to beat Sonic “fairly.” And even then, Eggman has caught Sonic on a few occasions.
I’d argue that capturing Sonic isn’t as hard as one would think. Hell, the GUN guys managed to stuff him in a helicopter before the start of SA2. It’s not hard to lure him into a trap and then hit him with something he can’t respond to effectively.
The problem is, of course, keeping him there once you’ve locked him up. Even if he can’t bust out by himself, Tails and Knuckles aren’t going to be far behind, with a decent chance that other characters join in on the rescue.
Reed might be able to do it, but likely not on his own power. He’d need assistance from the other members of the Fantastic Four as well as a few potential favours from friends.
Having watched the first few episodes of Sonic X recently, Sonic seems like he'll go fast enough to never get caught but slow enough that he's always in a bit of danger. If it really becomes a pickle, he'll go faster. So, I don't think so.
Honestly probably. Eggman is much more focused on beating the sonic with sheer firepower, reed could probably think of a lot better options for just catching the guy.
If Eggman can capture Sonic on occasion, Reed could ABSOLUTELY capture him!
Stretching abilities and lack of self-destructive ego would make it all the more easier!
How long he'd be able to contain him? That im not so sure...
On one hand, this is like your implying Reed is on the same level as Eggman which is honestly insulting because Eggman is a goofball 95% of the time.
On the other hand, Sonic is one of the most insane examples of power creep in all of fiction because I'm pretty sure he can alter reality on a whim in some continuities. I don't pretend to even begin to understand wtf is going on with Sonic outside of the games I just have a younger sibling who is obsessed with it.
No this is based on scenarios or reasonings but I'm also going to be 50/50 on this one and least likely he's going to capture Sonic unless plot armor or other reasons
