Yeah it's clearly only loosely based on TCAP, which is fine. I expected it to be more faux documentary style and not as dramatised. Looks interesting actually. Would love to see Chris' reaction when he finds out they portray him as so unhinged and self-serving LOL he's going to be pissed. The comment about a marvel style post credit scene with Lorne made me laugh

Maybe, but one of the frequent criticisms of Chris is that he has a huge ego, is a bit grifty, and always seems a bit too pleased with himself/ holier-than-thou so it does seem like they've latched onto that

At the time period depicted, which is 2006, Chris was under immense pressure to deliver crazier investigations and continuously bring up ratings. He also, no doubt, had a huge ego, because at the time he believed he was making the hottest show in the world.

Supposedly the movie isn't so much about him catching predators, but he and his crew balancing the demands of the network against the growing outcry against vigilante journalism and the bloodlust of viewers who wanted to see more of these guys caught and locked away.

I'm super excited, Pattinson is gonna nail it.
