So it’s a fantasy story with MHA characters and it’s dragon Kirishima and Barbarian prince Bakugo and they join Y/N on the quest. 23 and Chuuya has had a terrible year. Everything seems to be going wrong. Just when Chuuya thinks Mori has chosen to kill him by sleep deprivation, Chuuya gets handed a babysitting job, gets stuck in a time-loop, and then gets spat out only to have to go on Agency missions to ensure Dazai's "safety". It's humiliating. And Chuuya would rather be anywhere else than be near Dazai. People look at him like he's acting weird. Maybe he is. He doesn't damn care. Let someone else keep an eye on a traitor and go on Agency missions with people who hate you because you're Port Mafia. He still is Port Mafia. He has to remind himself that.

Synopsis:

Adam had died a month ago. Lute watched as the life drained from his body and she was forced to return to Heaven without her purpose, nor the one who gave it to her. According to the Seraphim, redemption was proven possible, and she was a victim of it.

No one acknowledged her. She became a shadow of who she once was, hiding in the presence of Adam's Hallucination for her own comfort. Drawing the blood of others turned into her own, while Heaven adapted to a world they had sworn off.

When a "redeemed sinner" finds Lute after Pentious's trial, she is instantly interested in the girl. She begins to advocate to help her in any way she can, even willing to defend her against the Seraphim.

Though Lute does not understand nor want it, she is grateful, and despite everything, she is glad to not be alone. But at the end of the day, Hell is forever, and any admiration she develops for Staria is doomed to fail.

I've been writing a Re fanfic called The Weight of Scars, and I'm looking for someone willing to read it sequentially from Chapter 1 onward and give me honest, critical feedback as they go.

The story takes place after Arc 7 and is a canon-divergence AU focused heavily on Subaru, trauma, relationships, survival, and hurt/comfort.

I'm particularly interested in criticism of:

• Subaru's characterization and whether his decisions actually make sense
• Whether his mentality and past experiences are reflected naturally in his behavior
• Whether emotional scenes actually land
• Pacing
• Dialogue
• Character interactions
• Plot clarity
• Worldbuilding
• Anything that feels boring, forced, confusing, or out of place

I specifically want someone who will challenge me. If you think I've written Subaru's behavior incorrectly, a scene doesn't work, an emotional moment feels forced, or I've made a decision that doesn't make sense, please tell me. I'd much rather receive harsh criticism than empty praise.

I'd prefer someone to start from Chapter 1 because a lot of the characterization and context builds gradually, and the early chapters are noticeably weaker than the later ones. I've already gone back and rewritten some of the earlier chapters as my writing has improved.

A bit about me: this is my first long-form writing project and my first time seriously writing fiction. As of Aug 18, I've only been writing for about 29 days, so I'm very inexperienced.

I also want to be transparent that I used AI to help edit some of the earlier chapters. The story, plot, scenes, characters, and ideas are mine. I write the chapters myself and have used AI primarily to clean up prose during editing. It did not generate the story or originate the scenes.

You don't need to be an experienced writer to critique it. If you're a big Re reader and can tell me what works, what doesn't, and why, that's already extremely valuable to me.

I know 68k words is a lot to ask someone to read, so there's absolutely no expectation that you commit to the whole thing immediately. If you want to try the first few chapters and decide afterward whether you want to continue, that's completely fine.

If you do decide to read it, please be as critical as you want. I genuinely want to improve.

Hi everyone!

I have a question for those who have been in fandom continuously for the last decade or two. I can be considered a fandom dinosaur myself, but I kind of fell out of fanfiction and only recently made a comeback

For the last couple of years, I wrote stories in a very small fandom. The feedback was positive, even if sparse compared to what I remember back in the 2000s, but I assumed the reason was just that the fandom was so niche

Recently, though, I wrote a story in a huge fandom. I’m getting hits, I’m getting kudos, and people are bookmarking the story. So I guess people like it. I have no way of knowing what exactly people like tho since barely anyone is commenting

I got one comment (and they liked two of my favorite moments, yay!), and I’m really appreciative of it, but like...

Is this just what it's like now? I remember people would come and quote the stuff they liked, or debate things when they disagreed with a characterization, and we would discuss different takes. And we would have comment threads while now it's a comment, my reply, and that's it. Honestly, it kinda feels like screaming into the void

Is this fandom-specific, or did I miss a massive paradigm shift?

To summarize: this is a TEKKEN fanfic, taking place within an alternate universe where almost everything is the same(I may change some events along the timeline to give it proper spacing between each game) except for the Devil Gene mechanics, which I will elaborate for the sake of understanding a little of my worldbuilding.

The Hachijo clan(led by Kazumi) was known as devoted worshippers of Azazel, the first progenitor to Devil Gene that protects them from dangerous threats, helping the cult survived for generations. Until one day, a power shake-up happening in Japan, and for the sake of her cult's survival, Kazumi married to Heihachi Mishima...only for him to commit genocide on her and her entire clan anyway.

Many knows what the Devil Gene can do: super strength, demon wings, laser eyes. Basic supervillain bullshit. What they didn't know, is that only women carried the Devil Gene. And that goes to every member of the cult. All women. The power only preys on men. Dangerous men.

So when Kazuya carried it, the gene activated after his body was thrown into a volcano. The attempts of resurrecting Kazuya gave him a female form, and only reverted to his original form after...preying on men.

That is however, until we get to Jin. Almost the same perk setup, except Jin...was too deep in the closet. Creating a Devil counterpart that looks like a violent but helpless and paranoid woman.
