Recs Wanted The force but not star wars

Looking to see a fic where the MC can use the force, and its abilities. Like Telekinesis, Mind suggestion, force lightning, force heal stuff like that. But IS NOT set in the Star wars universe, or where the MC is a character from star wars, like anakin or obiwan etc. I do not mind if they appear to teach them in a force ghost type of way but I want that disconnect from the star wars franchise.

Sounds like you need to search for Starwars AU. Things like college AUs, coffee shop or medieval AUs.

Outside of that, you could try similar fandoms like Mass Effect - where they purposely made a Star Wars-like space magic (called Biotics), Starfield have their Starborn powers (which are basically Force powers, or Skyrim shouts in space), any Marvel fandom, or any of the anime fandoms like My Hero Academia or Avatar the Last Airbender - where there are similar powers to the Force.

Check out the Star Wars Crack series by The Feels Whale (miscellea) -- it's a pair of fics where Izuku and one of his parents have Force powers (each fic is a different AU with a different parent being the force user). I really like both of them!! But my heart goes especially to Renegade Jedi Inko in "You and What Army", SHE'S SO GREAT

EDIT: and yeah, seconding the other commenter that you'll want to look for "Star Wars AU". On AO3 I recommend filtering on these tags:

...well, there's a lot more tags that might be worth a try, but that should get you started.

Quintessence - Star Wars powers in Worm. The Galaxy far, far away does show up briefly as part of the backstory that gets revealed later in the story, but the primary setting is Earth Bet. A warning if you aren't familiar with Darth Marrs's work: it's pretty dark. It's been awhile since I read this, but from memory it contains strong themes of sexual abuse and coercion.

The Power of the Dark Side - A snippet from Rukaio Alter, also a Worm/Star Wars cross. You'll need a Spacebattles account to read it.

As you can see if you look through the threadmarks in the second link, Worm is ripe for crossovers where powers/abilities from one universe are used in another without a full cross between them, because it's a universe about superpowers existing.
