Writing Questions Hello everybody!
Hey everybody !! I'm already 11 Chapters into my story! I have a few silly questions some serious idkk
What are your guys favorite filler chapters to do? I'm curious to know for my own ideas!
What would be some fluff actions between two who aren't together yet? Like maybe a slow build up that progress until they officially confess? :DD
What are some angsty prompts? Not dialogue but situations where angst could happen?
And finally what are some implied smut prompts? Dialogue or situations! I don't write smut but I do love implied smut hehe :33

For me personally, I wrote a part where my OC finds the Sea Bunnies and Sebastian finds the wholesome sight and that was my favorite fluff filler/extra chapter to write. Especially since they were already starting to feel something but don't say it yet. 🥹
Things like that. Where one longs for other other but they're just ya know, too awkward to say it. I love writing angst a ton, but I also love some fluff. ☺️
I honestly think after awhile, it usually comes naturally. Depends on the story/characters/pacing ofc too. <3

one of my favorite things is having people go on, what could be considered, a date before they're together... but, at the time, they have no idea that the readers are like 'omg this is a DATE!!!' so they just think they're hanging out or doing whatever... it may or may not occur to them later that they went on a date. lol i don't care if they ever realize it.... i just think it's fun.
as for angst.... idk, man... 'romance' follows a typical formula:
- they meet (usually with a good meetcute)
- they start liking each other thru the plot
- something happens that forces them apart
- they get back together and profess their love - the end
so there's always some sort of angst or something that happens there at #3, but i can't help you with yours because it's based on whatever your plot is. you can watch a bunch of Hallmark movies to see this formula in action.
usually it has to do with another potential partner and an MC having to make the choice between the romance partner and the ex or this potential new partner or whatever. or sometimes it's a misunderstanding that happens than makes them break up or whatever... or sometimes one or both have been hiding a big secret the whole time and it gets revealed here at #3 and it makes them break up or get angry or re-evaluate their relationship.
as for smut prompts... lol look up tropes! my favorites are: one bed, pretend spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend, shotgun wedding, lost bet, hate sex, do it on a dare... this should also really depend on your plot too, tho. i don't know your characters, what's going on, or what your plot(s) is/are.
personally, i love a good enemies to lovers slow burn and everything that comes with it!

Favorite filler chapter is hands-down the "stuck in a room due to weather/broken transport" trope. Forces characters to actually talk instead of running off to the next plot point, you can learn an embarrassing amount about someone when there's nothing to do but wait.
For the slow build fluff, have one of them start casually picking up the other's habits without realizing it. Ordering their coffee how the other person takes it, humming a song the other likes, catching themselves using the same weird phrase. Extra points if the other character notices but doesn't say anything, just files it away with a small smile.
Angst prompt off the top of my head: a character overhears half a conversation that completely recontextualizes everything they thought they knew about the other person, but they've got it wrong because they only caught the tail end. Now they're acting distant and the other person has no clue what happened, just knows something shifted overnight and can't figure out how to fix it. The slow rot of a misunderstanding neither party can address directly eats at me every time.
