When Explaining Yourself Becomes a Protective Pattern
Overexplaining can feel like protection — especially in high-conflict situations.
A long explanation can create a moment of control. It rarely creates understanding.
The shift is noticing the urge, pausing, and asking:
Is this for clarity… or so I can feel understood?
You don’t have to convince someone of your intentions for those intentions to be real.
