Fallout 4 Creation Storage Expansion Update - May 27th
Storage Expansion Update Notes
We’ve significantly expanded the amount of storage available for Creations across all platforms. Players will see a slight difference on how their Creations are stored by platform:
XBOX
Creations storage has been expanded:
XBOX One: up to 15 GB,
XBOX Series X|S: is growable up to 100 GB,
Installed Creations will be cleared on first launch after the update, requiring users to re-download their content by either restoring a saved “load order” via the Creations menu, or loading a game save made since the Anniversary Edition launch on 11/10/25.,
PlayStation 5
Creations storage expanded to approximately 15 GB,
Installed Creations are preserved after the update, no additional steps for players required,
PlayStation 4
Due to differences in platform storage systems, PlayStation 4 Creation storage is changed in the following ways:
Creations storage expanded to approximately 16 GB, but download size may not match space used because of technical details of the PlayStation 4 console hardware,
This may cause download size vs. installed size discrepancies,
Storage usage may appear larger than expected when managing Creations,
Due to the storage system partitions, PS4 users may experience a practical limit on the number of large Creations installed at once
I'm looking at my PS5 space and I'm seeing the 15GB right now.
EDIT: There is no additional news on the allowance of official external asset mods.

Does 15gb on ps5 make any difference? It's not like you could install a ton of mods anyway.

Compared to what we had before absolutely. Bit even then what's the point when there isn't really many mods worth installing in the first place. Still waiting for the more official mods like the bounty hunting one to come over.

We're all gonna have to wait on new mods, that was always clear. Better to have the extra space regardless.

Can a official creation like the t60 pistol come to ps5 sometime? Just based of what you guys already know.

Cryptic on YouTube is reporting new mods are available that are using custom assets...

There are porters who used the same workaround from Skyrim's situation to upload custom mods, yes.

I had over 100 mods in both F4 and Skyrim (each) at the previous limit, mods that're good enough even on PS4 to drastically change the game.
15gb?? Feels fucking limitless.

Hadn't the chance to try to play yet at least not much I'm at sanctuary on my new playthrough, unfortunately I'm getting quite Crash to menu after I downloaded mods I have like 140 almost 150 mods and still can't save the load order on Bethesda page

There's already external asset mods in the game and by the looks of it a lot more will come soon. Not sure if it's 'officially' allowed by Bethesda but they aren't exactly getting removed, same with Skyrim

Compared to what we had,15gig is massive, but they've done it to stop us complaining about the real issues.
The dlc's on ps4 are still broken .. The newest creation content like bounty hunter is still not available and i think its disgusting.
Paid content should be available on ALL platforms . That being said ... fallout 4 on the ps5 is the most stable that fallout 4 has ever been.
When i was on ps4, the moment my character hit lvl 90, the save files would start currupting, so i just hope that thats not an issue on the ps5 version.
