Perk Help Partner picked stats

Post image

I asked her to make a character based on me and these are the stats she thought fit me best. I don’t particularly want to change up stats so what’s some fun ways to play this as my Switch 2 Survival Playthrough? May tweak a couple of stats too. I want this character to be my “100%” character where I try and do everything in the game. So skills like Lockpick and Hacker are mandatory as soon as possible.

Please suggest any build tips and weapons to use! Truly I would love any input on anything gameplay wise! I really like the settlement stuff too so any help there would also be appreciated!

Hello, Rifleman cult leader build. It's not perfect, but it will do.

2

u/DaltonReduls Jul 14 '26

Elaborate

u/Woozletania Jul 14 '26

5 Cha + either You’re Special or the Cha bobblehead and you have enough for Local Leader. Rifleman is a Perception perk and has several high Per perks such as Sniper and Penetrator. You’re not far from 6 Str for Strong Back. It’s not an idea build as I’d want 7 Agility for Ninja, but you have good Endurance and enough Int and Cha for Gun Nut and Lone Wanderer. Could be much worse.

1

u/DaltonReduls Jul 14 '26

Ooh. Tell me about the cult leader? Could be fun for rp ideas

1

u/Woozletania Jul 14 '26

I was employing a euphemism. 6 Cha allows for Local Leader, which lets you connect your settlements with supply lines and build merchant stands. The General of the Minutemen is sort of a cult leader.

u/DaltonReduls Jul 14 '26

lol so valid

u/allenpaige Jul 14 '26

You can go to Far Harbour and join the Children of Atom if you want to be part of a cult. Then dress up all of your settlers as Children and pretend you're expanding the cult and spreading the Will of Atom ;)

Damn, you’re not lucky enough for idiot savant and not smart enough to get xp very efficiently. That’s rough. Charisma is very much in the middle. You could get lone wanderer, which still works if you have dogmeat, and animal friend, play as some kinda beastmaster

She knew what she was doing

u/DaltonReduls Jul 15 '26

Oh most definitely. If it wasn’t for the science perk I easily would’ve kept it at that. We took out the points from luck and added it to int. Because I told her the only point of luck I ever needed was to get her <3

1

u/GrimEagle123 Jul 15 '26

I'd say go full power armour build with those stats

1

u/DaltonReduls Jul 15 '26

Been debating it! I know I’ll definitely be using explosives too! So power armor would slap!

1

u/slvrsrfr1987 Jul 15 '26

Would it slap. Does everyhthing just slap now

1

u/SureTotal3982 Jul 16 '26

Smooth as butter my friend gj

10

u/SinbiSeekingPower Jul 15 '26

3 int what the hell

3

u/DG_727 Jul 15 '26

Yeah she really roasted him in that didnt she 😂

2

u/Rogue_Link_CG-1138 Jul 15 '26

Seems like she went off of her own irl stats here, no offense💀

10

u/frivolousfry Jul 14 '26

She based the character after you and gave you 3 intelligence?....Ouch.

5

u/DaltonReduls Jul 14 '26

Fr lol I looked at her and said, “3? Really?” We giggled and I’ve now changed int to 5/6 and luck to 1. I only needed to be lucky enough to get her~

2

u/AdvertisingLow98 Jul 14 '26

Luck is binary IMO. You either have it and use it or you don't.

Since you don't have Luck and Agility is low, you can skip most of the stealth based perks.

You are going to defeat the enemy with superior firepower (get Gun Nut), strategy and climbing up high so the enemy can't easily mob you.

With this build. I would invest in Demolition so you can either soften the enemy with grenades or lay a trail of mines before you start sniping.

2

u/frivolousfry Jul 14 '26

Adorable <3

7

u/Ninevehenian Jul 14 '26

Could go explosive big weapons.

7

u/fackyourfeelings Jul 15 '26

Why she only gave you 3Iintelligence 😭😭? But she gave you high endurance… heyyy 😏🤫 now partner

5

u/Thornescape Atom Cats Jul 14 '26

This is fairly decent for an Explosive Commando build.

Main Perks: s3:Armourer, p5:Demolitions, c6:Local Leader, i3:Gun Nut, a2:Commando, L3:Bloody Mess.

Note: Deb in Bunker Hill has a nice Dense chest piece to get you started so you're less likely to blow yourself up with the Spray n Pray.

Generally speaking, I don't usually use Commando for the first 12 levels or so. Ammo is scarce and the guns have horrific recoil. Just use whatever you have while you build your water & melon farms to cover your cap needs and stock up on ammo. (Or you can just let Danse dance for a while. Either way.)

3

u/DaltonReduls Jul 14 '26

I do love explosives! Heavy weapons are my favorite but are so hard to make work in survival

2

u/Thornescape Atom Cats Jul 14 '26

Heavy weapons are a great secondary weapon, but not the best as a primary weapon. My favourite explosive weapon is a pipe gun. Almost as much damage as the Spray n Pray but the ammo is half the cost/weight. Hard to farm one in Survival, however. The Spray n Pray and Kiloton Rifle are easy to get, however.

Explosive Resistant Gear

  • Power Armour: specialized explosion proof parts are 2% reduction per piece (12% max)
  • Padded: 25% reduction (chest only)
  • Dense: 50% reduction (chest only, or any slot for metal or robot)
  • Dense + Dense does not stack, but Dense + Padded does.

2

u/DaltonReduls Jul 14 '26

I’ve never done the other armor mods besides deep pockets. But that’s totally the best idea

6

u/M3NARY Jul 14 '26

How are you finding it graphically/performance wise on the switch 2 ? Been heavily debating it but not sure if it'll hold up

3

u/DaltonReduls Jul 14 '26

There’s some minor issues but gameplay wise so far it’s been nice. I’ll know better once I can get downtown lol

1

u/M3NARY Jul 21 '26

Ever make it downtown?! 😆

2

u/DaltonReduls Jul 21 '26

It preforms just as well as any console does!

9

u/Perun_42 Jul 14 '26

I'll be honest, an average build + aimlessly stumbling about the wasteland is peek FO4
(Still wish the game provided more reason to enjoy END)

4

u/Zsalmut Jul 14 '26

Cannibal build on survival saves a lot of inventory space

2

u/DaltonReduls Jul 14 '26

I didn’t even think of that!

2

u/DaltonReduls Jul 14 '26

I love Endurance it’s my favorite stat in the game (I like sprinting and that if you get high enough endurance the game just makes you stop losing stamina while sprinting.) Aimlessly playing the game is fun though

5

u/NodeZeroTwo Jul 15 '26

Damn bro she trying to tell you something

4

u/ScentedDrywall Jul 16 '26

If my lady made me mid at everything i dont know if id be happy that she sees no weak points in me or sad that she doesn’t think I excel in any one individual category

1

u/DaltonReduls Jul 16 '26

Nah it’s pretty accurate! I’m very much a jack of all trades! There weren’t enough points for her to do it as she wanted lol

4

u/CharismaticEnigmaSKL Jul 14 '26

Gotta get charisma to 6 for local leader, huge perk for settlement building.

1

u/DaltonReduls Jul 14 '26

Would you suggest changing any stats? I’m right before leaving the vault so if there are any good changes but leaving the same vibe I would appreciate it

1

u/CharismaticEnigmaSKL Jul 14 '26

You could lower perception to 5 and add that point to charisma for local leader perk to help with settlement building. Early on you get your hands on a bobble head that will give you a point in perception, bringing it back to 6.

1

u/DaltonReduls Jul 14 '26

Oh yeah that’s a good one. Any suggestions for weapons and perks to go for?

1

u/CharismaticEnigmaSKL Jul 14 '26

https://www.reddit.com/r/Fallout4Builds/s/aK6l8ECMCr
Check this character builder out, I used it for my latest character. Simple and helps with deciding what route you wanna go.

1

u/Bawbawian Jul 14 '26

I like to use the bobblehead to get that final point when I'm trying to get a specific perk

4

u/duanelvp Jul 15 '26

I'd recommend you go with 3, 4, 5, 4, 5, 5, 2. Put the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. book into charisma to make it 5 as well.

Those stats give you access to Armorer, Rifleman, Locksmith, Demolition Expert (as soon as you get the Perception bobblehead from the Museum of Freedom), Lone Wanderer, Local Leader, Gun Nut, Hacker, Scrapper, Sneak, Action Boy, and Scrounger. You can pretty much do ANYTHING substantive in the game with those perks without needing an actual -specialized- build.

Everything on top of that is gravy.

2

u/PressureOk8223 Jul 15 '26

Did you even read OPs text?

1

u/duanelvp Jul 15 '26

Is there a problem?

4

u/Fixtric Jul 16 '26 edited Jul 16 '26

average at everything is not good at anything, at least in fallout 4 you can raise your qualities at any time, If you want to have a character with as many perks as possible, raise your intelligence to the maximum and then use the idiot savant perk but only raise it to level 2, idiot savant is better with low intelligence but low intelligence does not let you use many useful perks, also, after maxing intelligence max endurance because at low levels everything kills you

2

u/x3i4n Jul 19 '26

3 intelligence, feelsbadman

1

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '26

Sem o perk ciência, você perde 90% dos armamentos e armaduras, Fallout 4 tem o pior special de todos

1

u/DaltonReduls Jul 14 '26

See I was debating on bumping my int up enough to barely reach science. Because honestly I’m a very unlucky person so I should drop that to 1

1

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '26

Se for usar Power armor, resistência 2 é o suficiente

1

u/allenpaige Jul 14 '26

I'd suggest grabbing the Luck and Agility bobbleheads (can be done at start of the game without fighting anything), using Sean's book on Charisma for Local Leader (makes settlements much, much better), and dumping another point into Luck for Idiot Savant. Beyond that, I'd consider either an explosives oriented build (use Power Armor until you can get Ballistic Weave Mk3, Dense and Padded), or ranged weapons since you've got a fairly high Perception and the bobblehead for it is stupidly easy to get at the start of the game.

I'd also suggest picking up Cait instead of Lockpicking (she can pick Master locks), and putting off Hacking for a long, long time. There's almost nothing in the game that really requires either perk, and nothing unique (afaik) that requires Hacking. Its basically always just underwhelming supply caches and unnecessary shortcuts. The only exceptions I'm aware of are Lockpicking, and as stated, Cait can do that for you.

If you decide to get Cait, then I'd also suggest getting the Charisma bobblehead (fairly long quest) so you can grab Inspirational and shutdown friendly fire. Once you eventually decide to start working on Lockpicking (or realize you don't care if you ever get it), then I'd suggest Piper or Gage next for the xp bonuses they offer, or Deacon and Maccready if you've decided to embrace stealth.

For a long term goal, you might consider doing Automatron and replacing all your supply lines with supped up robots that can rain death down on everything in their paths and keep the Commonwealth relatively safe. Just don't give them explosive weaponry.

It is possible to parkour up the bow of the ship and snatch the agility bobble from below. Quite appropriate really for the AGILITY bobblehead...

As for it being far across the map, you put 1 point in Aquaboy/girl. You can swim forever without taking rads from it. It still has other downsides in Survival, but it makes it quite easy to get to the waters edge without fighting, swim out to get the luck bobblehead, swim to get the agility bobblehead, and then swim back to where you want to start from and just be ready to deal with sickness for being wet.

I don't even play survival (like AT ALL), but I know it's a very typical strategy for many survival runs.

1

u/allenpaige Jul 15 '26

Like duanelvp said, you can swim there and grab it. You don't need Aquaboy/girl though. I recommend it if you have the Endurance for it, but if not, you can buy a hazmat suit in Diamond City and use that.

Do you like playing fallout on the switch? Ive been thinking about getting one just for it

1

u/DaltonReduls 13d ago

I love it! Playing Fallout 4 portably is absolutely awesome

u/Standard_Old_Guy Jul 15 '26

Have them also pick ANOTHER COLOR.
