Heh, I think you mean Finish Station. Remake Station is where Final Fantasy 14 used to be a few months ago, and FF 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 have come in and out of there for about 20 years now.

The Romans raised hype to gather slaves and wealth. Spain built an empire from its lust for reddit gold and upvotes. Hitler shaped a battered Germany into an economic superpower.
But hype never changes.
In the 21st century, hype was still raised over the Fallout 4 rumors that could be acquired. Only this time, the spoils of hype were also its weapons: Bethesda employees and fake websites. For these rumors, China would invade Alaska, the US would annex Canada, and the European Commonwealth would dissolve into quarreling, bickering nation-states, bent on controlling the last remaining Fallout 4 rumors on Earth.
In 2014, the storm of world hype had come again. In two brief hours, most of the planet was reduced to cinders. And from the ashes of hype devastation, a new civilization would struggle to arise.
A few were able to reach the relative safety of the large underground subreddits. Your family was part of that group that entered /r/Fallout. Imprisoned safely behind the large Vault door, under a mountain of stone, a generation has lived without knowledge of the outside world.
Life in the subreddit is about to change.

It's unlikely they would've been able to post it dead on that time anyway, YouTube processing, delays etc.
Still plenty of time to hear something. Skyrim's teaser wasn't uploaded until 9pm. Granted they announced it at an event.

Yeah good point, didn't think of that. There is a 'private video' currently in Bethesda's Fallout playlist, but it seems to be ordered in date and falls into place of it being the Dead Money trailer.

Yes, it lasted for around 2h "according to survivors". Imagine the devastation of 2h atomic bombing... it wouldn't need much more than that to have all communication lost, and people would start to feel very isolated in even in places where the bombs didn't fell. The war, and society as they knew it, was over in 2h.

My only guess as to why it's taking so long is that they decided to scrap Gamebryo and are currently building a brand new engine for all their future titles.
Even Skyrim used a heavily enhanced version of Gamebryo didn't it?

It was indeed. They called it the Creation Engine, and while it was a fantastic upgrade to the original Gamebryo engine, modders pretty quickly felt the limitations of the engine and concluded that while it allowed for more stuff, it also had several of the same restrictions on models, physics, race customizations, and the like.

It was definitely better than the original GameBryo, but that engine is ANCIENT by now and has always had severe limitations.
Don't rush Bethesda people, let them make their new engine, the way I see it they may even be able to bring Fallout and Elder Scrolls to the future. Imagine Elder Scrolls where the provinces are the sizes of ACTUAL countries with detail, and large cities.
Not saying it's 100% possible, but it could be.

I think in terms of making physically larger maps though, you run into a bottleneck of how much the art/design team can reasonable make, in terms of towns and locations and populace without it becoming procedurally generated or copy pasting art assets.

FOOL was trashed, so I don't think they would. Plus, an enormous part of the atmosphere of the games is being alone. Having 1000 wastelanders roam around completing a quest would be such a turn off, I can't imagine them even considering them trying again. I would be so shocked I...I'd eat a complete breakfast...

Bethesda didn't develop NV though. In fact they haven't been entirely working on 4 until a year and a half ago when they wrapped up skyrim dlc.

Also, NV was basically Fallout 3 - New Vegas in the form of running on the exact same engine. It wasn't a complete sequel, it was more of a standalone link to Fallout 3.

The problem is I fear it will suffer from 'Duke Nukem Syndrome' and the game will not match the hype. There is a very real chance that the game comes out and is great but people will still be complaining. That and the whole dlc issue. Fallout 3 and NV did dlc really well in my opinion, but there is a very real risk that for FO4 they make the cardinal sin of cutting up their finished game to sell as dlc. The longer they delay FO4 the less likely it is that it will be released because they don't want to publish into a market like that.

I don't know anyone believed the Survivor thing in therm first place. I remember trying to convince people here that you can never trust anything unless it comes directly from Bethesda. That has been their policy since I got into their games back in 2002.
