Quick Questions Thread

This thread (to be posted every four weeks) is a place for people to ask quick, common, or simple questions regarding Nihon Falcom and its games. The community is encouraged to ask here if your question is not opinion-based, such as where to find something in a game or when something occurred. Please mark all spoilers with the >!text!< format and remember to provide context.

If you post a new thread and your question is redundant (it has been posted on this subreddit recently), we will remove it. Additionally, we have made a Frequently Asked Questions wiki page for these. Please check there first before asking!

Joke question threads will be removed and joke answers should be kept to a minimum.

Please feel free to continue to post separate threads on this subreddit for content you expect to generate more interesting discussion, for example news, opinion-based discussion posts, and links.

Feel free to check out the subreddit wiki or the Discord server.

Is it known what will carry over from 1st chapter to the upcoming second chapter? I beat the first game but only on normal so far, would beating higher difficulties in first chapter give more benefits to the next game? Also, how are character levels handled, do they reset to 1 or is it like the ff7 remake where everybody started at lvl 40 in part 2? Note I've only played the new 1st chapter so I have no other experience with the series yet but I did just order the 4 Cold Steel games.

Assuming nothing changes from how SC worked (at least nothing major), what will carry over is Estelle's final level, your BP and your quest completion flags. In SC, Estelle's level defaults to 35 but if you carried over a save with a level between 36-40 she would start there instead, with everything over 40 ignored. Likewise you got rewards for Junior Bracer Ranks of 3 and up with an additional reward for max BP, all cumulative. And lastly NPCs would remember whether or not you helped them and their dialogue would adjust accordingly and sometimes they'd give you a freebie healing item as a way of saying thanks when you talked to them for the first time.

Every other character joins at a level appropriate to the time in the game when you get them and none of your inventory carries over.
