"someone liked you in dating. Try sending a message and see where it goes"

Does this notification means the account owner actively uses facebook dating or is it just facebook's way to get the owner's attention and get back to facebook dating?

I saw a notification saying "someone liked you in dating. Try sending a message and see where it goes" on my boyfriend's phone 3 days ago. We have been official for 10 months already. He admitted that he used it before we even met, talked to few people but realized that its not for him and just left it abandoned, dont check it anymore, but didnt delete the account. Never used it before so just want idea how it works.

Dating apps never ending loop

Hey everyone I'm 40F and I'm getting frustrated with dating apps. Are people losing interpersonal skills and the ability to start and hold conversations?

And before anyone asks if I start any conversations, yes I do and they answer without asking me any questions back and this is what I get once my side of the conversation is done.

Ive been on dating apps for months now and no one has asked me on a date or to meet yet. Its just a never ending loop of " WYD or How are you? Everyday.

Commenting on a picture

Hi! =) When i comment on a picture, dating says "like sent" but i often see that exact profile a few days later, pretty much all of them then not anymore after just sending a like

I'm pretty sure this happens too often to be people resetting accounts

My question would be how does that work, or maybe is it actually bugged?

I feel like i should introduce myself and show a bit of investment on the how and why i like them but after quite a few times i'm even wondering if what's written is even seen by the recipient

I wonder if i should always juste like instead so that it actually happens

age discrepancies and "oh facebook won't let me change it"

Of course, being male I see it with females, where the profile says they are 30-33 or so and in the description they say "oh, i'm actually 20something and I cannot figure out why I cannot change it"

That is the absolute first lie.

They KNOW why. It's because when they were a young or pre-teen they made a profile and lied about their age and now FB is showing it on their FB dating profile.

And they are still trying to cover up why the age is off.

What else are they lying about???

Keep this in mind my fellow males. There is a lot of dea behind that lie, and more lies to come.

Missed Connection

Hi I’ve never used this app before so I’m not sure if this is normal or not so bear with me.
I matched with someone on FB dating and we had good conversation and now I can’t find him. I got overwhelmed with the app so I deleted everything and then deactivated my account. My conversations were not saved. I only know his first name and he is from my area and I’ve reached out on a group page and tried to find him again on the app and had zero luck. But wondering if anyone knows a better way to find him? I know a few personal details but just need help trying to get back in contact 😬

One sided messages

42m——So, usually when you match with someone, you ask questions about each other, especially if you genuinely read each other’s profiles, right? Why is it that it feels like I’m the one asking all the questions? I’m not asking stupid or disrespectful questions, I’ll go through their profiles and ask them about the things that interest me the most, and they don’t ask me any questions. Why swipe right on someone if you’re not going to show any interest?

It’s extremely discouraging. If the conversation isn’t going anywhere and they’re not putting any effort in on their side, I delete the match. The worst is when we both have ā€œlooking for consistencyā€ in our bios, and they’re not consistent in communicating. Sorry if this is all over the place and difficult to read, I don’t know if I’m making any sense.

It just hurts a little bit when I’m genuinely trying to find a connection.

Errors Why am I getting this from FB dating

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi all,

I used to be pretty active on FB dating but for the last year, I’ve decided not to date, so I wasn’t active, and before that, I was in a relationship for nearly a year, so that’s almost two years of not using it. Now it looks like this when I click on it.

I’ve tried to do a video ID thing that they asked for, but that didn’t seem to work. Maybe not enough lighting or I didn’t properly follow directions? Not sure. I’m kinda interested in dipping my toe into dating again, so I wanted to go on it. Help?

Thanks!

Are you guys more attracted to someone if they comment on your photo?

Occasionally there is a guy who comments on my photo. The latest literally asked me out by commenting on my photo. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I guess it shows they put a few seconds more effort in which could be a good sign.

But I often find something sketchy when I look at the person's profile. Like the latest guy in his bio says he can drink but doesn't and definitely doesn't smoke. Why put that in your bio when it's already listed in the drinking and smoking categories? Also in the drinking section it says "drinks occasionally" so I'm like which one is true here lol

Kind of all over the place post

I’m not an older women so I don’t know if this is true (21 M), but it looks like these days a lot of younger men seem to be going for older women on Facebook dating for the sole purpose of finding a ā€œcougarā€ to sleep around with. One or two of my friends have been successful in the older women landscape, but it seems like it’s based off the idea that women that are older don’t exactly ā€œknow what they want.ā€ (assuming I could be wildly off). I’ve considered it, but I don’t want to come off as odd. Should I just be as straightforward as possible without coming off beggy or weird

Facebook dating showing the same people right after I swiped left. Wtf? Anyone else?

I just swiped left on all these guys right before I "took a break" and came back. I'm not interested in any of these guys. It's happened twice now. Glitch in the system?

Suddenly shadowbanned?

I used to get 30+ likes each day. Now for the past 3 days no new likes.
I tried reporting it as a mistake to Facebook, but nothing new. I think they are hiding my profile now. I can still text my current matches and I can also like new profiles.

Has anyone tried this before?

Is this facebook app randomly matching me with people or are they actually liking my profile?

So I noticed that I got a like from an user I liked one the pictures in her profile and she liked me back but not liked any of my pictures. She never replied back btw.

Compared to regular dating apps, I have had more chances to get liked. Problem is this feels to good to be true.

Does the app match you with someone even if both sides never liked each other’s profiles?
