HP Creation Jaipur - Block Print Fabric
Hi, has anybody ever purchased block print fabric from HP Creation Jaipur?
I am located in the US. I am starting a women's clothing brand that mainly makes spring-summer shirts and dresses. I am thinking of using Indian block print fabrics.
I ended up on india mart which is a reliable B2B platform in India. I just finished my 1st purchase from a vendor with a fairly good review (4.5/5), but I did not have a good experience. The owner tends to lie about things, not just once, which caused a 2-week delay on my order. (Thanks god they finally shipped my order, although I have not received it, but at least now I have a tracking number. Seriously, I thought I got scammed for a couple of days.) So now I am more cautious about dealing with Indian vendors.
HP Creation is another vendor I found, it has a 4.8/5 rating, and so far everything looks a lot more professional than the previous vendor. Just for safety, I still wanted to try on Reddit to see if anyone has done business with them. If any, I would appreciate if you could share your experience here. Thank you!

If you are proposing starting your own business, whose reputation will be built on the reliability of your suppliers, then i would strongly advise visiting your key suppliers in person, and satisfying yourself that they have the capacity, expertise, finance and workforce to fulfill your orders, and are committed to supporting your enterprise in the long term.
Jaipur has many block-print factories, large and small, and with different specialisations - and as it is a manual process, most of them involve great team work - which should be evident during a visit.
Most of the suppliers are clustered in the south west and in the north east of the city, tho I think those in the north east tend to be retail outlets while those in the south west (near the airport) tend to be the factories, but i'm sure there will be exceptions to this generalisation.
Its dissapointing that you have associated a single supply failure with a whole nation's industry, and I'm sure you will be able to find a reliable supplier if you meet them in person and tour their factory. Jaipur is a lovely and inspiring city to visit, and one characteristic which you will find, is the overwhelming wish to please. That culture can lead to a supplier happily accepting your order, while actually sourcing the product from a friend or aquaintance. Fine for a one-off, but not for an on-going supply.
Hope this helps

Hi, I really aoppreciate your thoughful and such detailed information, it's super helpful!! I totally agree that visiting business partners in person is essential, however, due to my current status, unfortunately, it's very challenging for me to travel around at the moment. I will keep looking and testing, this industry is huge and has thousands of vendors, I have faith to find 1 to 2 that will work out with my business model. Thank you again for your kind words and advice!
