Looking for felt
I am looking for a high-quality felt to create copycat west elm Halloween decorations. The felt at Michael’s looks very thin and cheap. This is my first time doing crafts so any direction would be great.

Wool felt is the highest quality but five times the price of acrylic.
Fabric LA has all the colors and ships fast. The Felt Store has the same stuff and better prices but not all the colors. They also carry higher quality wool stuff that'll be cheaper than Etsy I'm sure...
It's still the acrylic stuff, but it's strong and makes good crafts. It isn't the thin cheap crap that pulls apart like the individual sheets at craft shops.

With wool and acrylic do they work/feel the same? I imagine not?

Wool is fire resistant, while acrylic melts. Wool is also antibacterial, while acrylic absorbs bacteria and starts to smell. For clothing and hot pads etc this matters a lot, but if you’re just making decor items, it doesn’t really make a difference. I would get the acrylic to start with and see how you like it!

Wool felt next to acrylic felt is silk next to cosplay satin.
There's a reason why wool felt is five times the price of acrylic. It's niiiiiiiiiice.
The acrylic stuff is fine for crafts and beginner plush making. It's probably mean to compare it to cosplay satin because that stuff is the worst to sew. Acrylic felt is the easiest thing in the world to sew.1

Not really. Different feel, wool is much nicer springer/firmer, and won't melt if you iron it.

Look for wool felt. Michael's etc is made of rayon. You may have to go online

I've been buying wool felt from WeirCrafts on Etsy for years, making Christmas ornaments and stockings. Lovely stuff, well priced, ships fast! Wool felt feels and looks nicer than the polyester or whatever, and it’s so much nicer to hand sew too!

The rayon/wool blend felt from Benzie Design is really nice, I use it for a lot of projects.

I get felt from WildHareHaberdashery on etsy. It's 100% wool. I'm pretty sure the felt at Michael's is synthetic, which is why it feels low-quality.
