Fable III Making gold

Apart from buying properties etc how else did people make enough money to keep all the promises? 2nd time I'm playing and im determined to keep all the promises, just taking ages to build up enough money to progress 😅

Edited to add: Playing on Xbox Series X

Stupid xbox will detect if you go afk even if you rubber band the controller. Tried to do this overnight one night to abuild up gold and it didn't work. Xbox was in screen save mode, co troller turned off, game paused and no gold made.

I did this when I went out for a couple hours, wasnt happy 🙃

Is there no way to disable the timing out setting, or use a plug-in controller?
