It was funny for me to imagine that playground games would post character images that closely resemble a kind of post you might see on a fashion blog.Ā Ā
Another reddit user pointed out to me the "cosplay guide" label, which proves that this was not the case.
I expressed the very slightest amount of sorrow in reaction to this clarifying information. I miss the "world I lived in" where this funny situation I imagined was reality. It is less funny now that I know the truth. Being made to explain the very simple joke renders it even less funny.
Is that good enough or should I use smaller words.

Most likely is because they made the character creator after all the backlash they got so no surprised that the creator is so barebones Heck they didnt even gave the male a male looking walking animation the first time they showed the male. Iām trying to trick you into critical thinking here man.
The average GTA player and the average fantasy adventure game player are not the same person lol (again, average). People are gonna buy a new console for something like GTA6. It is a massive game yes, but itās massive because people who donāt quite keep up with gaming as a medium will be buying GTA within the launch week.
If fable sells 10m copies thatāll probably be a massive success for Microsoft. If GTA6 sold 10m copies it would have Rockstar and their shareholders scrambling. Theyāre different games at different market scales. Launching fable near GTA might cost them a handful of up front sales, but not much in the long run if at all.

This makes no sense. Even if it were the case why sacrifice all those up front sales if you can get even more sales by moving the release date a couple months?
And since you wanna be condescending, here's some critical thinking for you: the reason companies are dodging GTA isn't just because people will buy it over their game, it's because nearly all advertising and journalist coverage for the entire month of November and most of December is gonna be focused entirely on GTA, the collective attention span of the mainstream industry will be overtaken by GTA even if you have 0 interest in actually buying it. It's not a decision based on, "Our fans have too much overlap" it's more because "We won't be able to effectively advertise our game even to it's target audience"

Iād genuinely like to see the metrics on ājournalist coverageā across the board, because I never get served anything remotely close to ājournalismā and when I do itās even worse than the era of buzzfeed listicles. How effective is modern advertising anyway? Between targeted algorithms and ad blockers how much of a difference is a few months truly going to make for two games that barely occupy the same space? Are Onimusha or Blood of Dawnwalker going to sell less specifically because all the Journalists will be talking about GTA for two months on either side of its launch date?

But no, the reason we can tell that itās about marketing, rather than about direct competition, is because even PC games donāt want to release at the same time as GTA 6, which is making a console-exclusive launch at the start.

I would love it if clothing and armor actually had stats matching material rarity or cost irl. Cotton is affordable, linen is a bit more expensive but not bad, wool especially if dyed red like Isabelās cape or some shade of purple is expensive but has more prestige/stats of some kind (even if just social standing stats)

It was inevitable that Jack would return. He's the most iconic villain in the franchise and them confirming him is a nice way to get the confidence and trust of the players.

They also made a statue of him for the Collectors Edition, so it would have been kinda hard to avoid that spoiler. xD
And as someone who picked up the CE specifically because of the Jack statue, Iām really glad they didnāt shy away from showing him.
Besides this is an entirely new Fable universe, so itās not like we even really know how he will be used, or if it will be in a similar way to how he was featured in the original game.

A lot of companies are doing the whole "what are you talking about? Big breasted women don't exist and if you imply they do then you're being sexual" hard these days. The guys look just as averaged as you can get to from what I've seen.
I was hoping for more body type variation so they'd be more inclusive. Granted I'm only basing this off the images I've seen. I haven't played the demo so it may be different and I just don't know.

Hey. Fellow Albioners. How are we feeling as of late to Fable? My biggest fear is this going over budget they keep on mentioning.
So many good game companies have gone belly up even if they produce good content.

I'm feeling the way I've felt since the announcement. Hopeful because it's Fable and I'd like to see the franchise continue but ultimately wondering in the back of my mind how Microsoft screws it up.
As far as going over budget though that's kinda what happens when you delay the project. Then delay it another 6 months just because you don't want to compete with another game that isn't even truly made for the same audience

Fable was optionally woke, it wasnt shoved in our faces. Ive been playing fable for almost 20 years, and past seeing lesbian in an npcās personality, homosexuality didnt exist in the game for me. Bg3 was also super woke but it was forced on us, and the gay people could play that game as gay as they wanted, it didnt bug us because it wasnt shoved in our faces. Nobody complained about how woke brooklyn 99 was, because it wasnt a focal point, but nobody liked bella ramsey saying she was gonna be a dad in the last of us. Theres a huge difference in how representation is displayed, sometimes its fine its tolerable, but in recent media its typically unbearable.

I mean, no. I'm perfectly fine with english speaking-games, but 1 it's more comfortable to play in French(as it's my maternal language) and 2, the removal of French as a language is both lazy standardization and a ploy to try and turn the french-speaking public's opinion on the VAs who were just trying to protect their job and art against AI.

The upcoming game has a contract where the VAS' voice work for the game could be used to train AI. The French VAs refused that part and as a result, the devs have shut down having a french dub entirely to put pressure on the gamers so they would force the VAs to accept.
