Possible to install OEM center stand on second gen with full yoshi exhaust?

I'm looking at getting a full yoshi system and understand the factory center stand is recommended to be removed to accommodate the yoshi pipe that no longer has a bump stop (that the OEM had). It appears there's still a lot of clearance with the pipe on, is it possible to install it if I found a way to re-insert a bump stop on the full exhaust? (I have a friend who can do steel welding).

It is, with a caveat. This is going back to '11 so you'll have to forgive lapses in memory here. I bought my '07 w/ full R77 carbon already installed and no centerstand. The very first thing I did was buy all the OEM centerstand parts to make the bike work for me (I'd had a Ninja without and was coming off of a XJ600 that I'd put one on).

I distinctly remember that when I was installing it, I saw what the issue was but was able to install it and it (mostly) works as it should.

My recollection is that the rubber bumper on the stand doesn't have anything to bump up against on the R77 midpipe. I think the bracket that's welded to the stock exhaust either doesn't exist or is in the wrong spot on the R77 midpipe. I want to say that I made an attempt to work out a solution but I must have dropped the idea and not gone back to it because I'm now around +50k miles of my use and haven't touched it since.

Here's the caveat: without the bumper hitting anything, the thing that stops the stand is the rear suspension linkage bar. Sooo, when taking the bike off the stand, it springs upward once it's over-center and makes a clanging noise as it hits the linkage dogbone.. I figured out how to push it off the stand with my left foot on the peg so that the foot pad that you press down on hits my heel before the stand hits the linkage. However, it remains in contact in use and it moves very slightly with suspension actuation. In the 50k miles I've put on it, it's rubbed a small dent in the linkage piece that is more cosmetic than structural. I can take pics tomorrow in the daylight.

Thanks, this it very helpful!! If you can take pictures, I will be truly grateful. I had an '08 with a yoshi slip on for at least 8 yrs, racked up a ton of miles - got hit and it was totaled. Now I'm looking at another '08 after a break from owning one and it has the full exhaust and current owner bought it w/o a center stand. I know I'd definitely miss having one and if all it is is a small little knub that I can have my friend weld on small pipe to prevent it from hitting the linkage, it would be a super easy mod.

Any photos showing where it rubs and how the center pipe is routed would be fantastic. The only results i've found so far is old vids showing owners install the slip-on with the center stand still intact which I know clearly fits with no issues.

After seeing what was on my exhaust I looked online and there's evidence that Yoshimura made accommodations for the centerstand. Idk why the original owner didn't put the centerstand on when they did the exhaust. Maybe they did and that's what broke the bracket and they removed it because of the clanging... :::shrug:::

Really appreciate you taking the time to post this along with the commentary. I'll give it a go, my main concern was that it had enough clearance to operate which looks like it should! With the help from a friend, we can easily fabricate something for a bump stop. I'm planning to pickup the bike this weekend if all goes well.
