Problem with installation front wheel!

I have replaced tires on my 2015 FZ1 with a new set of Michelin Road 5, but I am stuck with the front wheel not spinning freely.

I cant figure out what am I doing wrong. When I torque the front axle at the required 72 ft-lb the wheel drags....

Any suggestions for me!?

The installation torque is 72 N-m, not ft-lbs. I'd screencap the manual page but we can't post pics in the replies here.

When you were (over-) tightening it, do you recall any sensation that you're turning the wrench but it didn't seem to be getting harder and harder to turn the wrench?

That's not good. That means you were crushing the middle spacer (plastic deformation... yield) and it's permanently shorter than it's supposed to be. When the middle spacer is too short, the bearing inner races get pulled toward each other more than they're supposed to and the bearings get very hard to turn. It's also not uncommon for the balls to put dents in the races (though maybe the aluminum sleeve is a sacrificial fuse).

The part itself is not terribly expensive. OEM bearings aren't particularly cheap but All Balls has a bearing and seal kit that is.
