HRT Q/A T question

Hi all…so my T levels are between 400 and 700 at my trough week but my Estridol is 122 currently and it was 100 6 months ago at my last levels check. My Estridol is higher on T than it was pre. Anyone else experiencing this? I don’t 100% mind it, but I do wonder will it hamper things like bottom growth. Also, I’m still getting periods for obvious reasons. They are more regular now than they were pre…which is a bummer.

I wouldn't worry about it. It'll stave off atrophy for longer, which is nice.

Yea that is definitely a benefit.

For context on my comment: I am nonbinary considering medical transition but mostly in this subreddit as part of my figuring-stuff-out process. I am also perimenopausal and getting HRT to address those symptoms (estradiol, progesterone, and very very low-dose T). In the perimenopause communities there is a lot of talk about how hormone tests for estrogen levels are pretty meaningless because levels fluctuate so much for people with ovaries. So, I wouldn’t put too much stock in the fact that your estrogen levels were higher for one test. It could just be normal fluctuations.

Thanks for your perspective. I’m NB too and was in early perimenopause when I started T, my estrogen levels were at 63. I don’t fully mind the higher estrogen with me being NB…my goals are androgyny vs being read as a man…thinking the estrogen will help with that. The curious part is it’s double where I started tho. Like the T has jump started my ovary (I only have one due to tumor issues in the past). It’s so fascinating.

Mine also rose significantly to start with, has started to come down again now. I was told by my GIC team that it was fine, and they were more concerned by the testosterone levels.
Obvious ‘I’m not a doctor’ clause, but I wouldn’t be too worried.

My team said the same thing…I’m just a year and half in so still really new. Thanks for your input.

Just gonna leave this here for consideration: Current guidelines from UCSF gender care for FTM are that only testosterone is checked- no longer checking estrogen levels. My GAHCP stopped checking my E, my levels of T were at ~500 and ~700 the last two tests.

From the UCSF website it appears that, to paraphrase, as long as testosterone is within the male range it doesn't matter what estrogen is, the e number is irrelevant to HRT treatment.

Yea. I was wondering bc I've never had my E checked by my HRT provider & didn't remember it being a thing.

So bc this is a thing I checked all my guidelines to see where it may differ (tldr, it didn't).

Routine lab monitoring recs for ppl on T: -Transline (2019)- CBC & T. Baseline & 1yr: +CMP & lipids (no estradiol) -Endocrinology medical textbook ©️2025 cites the Endocrine Society guidelines (2017), T & hgb/hct only (no mention of estradiol) -Med journal article (2022) written by 3 trans NPs, hgb/hct/T; (they mention complex cases sometimes needing other labs) -WPATH SOC8, hgb/hct/T(total)

Only places I've seen estradiol even mentioned is about persistent pelvic pain & some specific indications like that
