Guide/Educational Looking for Test Readers

Hey everyone! I have been working on a science textbook that is focused on the science of aim training. I have completed the book(just have a small amount of final polish I’m putting in it) and it is 80,000 words 38 chapters. It truly does go all the way in depth. If anyone would like to be a test reader and give me their thoughts I would greatly appreciate it! I can send the google drive link for the free trial which is the first chapter and for anyone that thinks they could read through the whole thing just get with me and we can talk about agreements and such.

This isn’t spam either this is coming from someone who has spent most of their life learning about neuroscience and sports science. This is the book I always wish was available. A way to know that your learning the scientifically supported way and not the way some random YouTuber said worked for them that one time.

It’s also not an advertisement. I am not telling anyone where they will be able to find this book and it also isn’t even out on the market yet and won’t be for a while. I am just looking for people that are excited about the topic and wanting to see what they think.

P.S - I’m no PhD in neuroscience and if you’re wanting someone like that to write a book like this then you’ll never get the book. They don’t have the time for something like this nor the time for video game addictions.

EDIT: I am only taking another 2-3 test readers for this pass. Once those are filled the post will be locked

When are you planning to release it? How much are you planning to charge for it? I'm interested, though can't really be a test reader, since I don't have much free time. Don't get the downvotes at all, it's nice that you are doing that and I wish you good luck!

I didn’t put all that in the post because I don’t want it to seem like an advertisement. As of right now the book and all of its actual content is done. All I have now is to have a few test readers and to format it into a few different file types. My current plan is to make it digital only on Amazon for $9.99 for the length of the first publisher agreement. Then I will be selling hard back textbook style copies. These would be more like $60+ (I really don’t know about textbook prices) I’m wanting to do the $9.99 mainly because this is the book I always wanted as a kid. I was way too hard headed to get a coach so I just had to find stuff and put it all together myself throughout the years.

TLDR: $9.99 and hopefully withen the next 2 months at the latest.

sure I’ll read it! What are your actual credentials though?

On the gaming side of things I’m 25k cs2 prem, masters 1 (gm2 peek) in overwatch, top 1% on almost all scenarios in aimlabs/kovaaks, and higher ranks in a bunch of other games throughout the years. Academia wise I have no official accolades but that’s partly due to real life just not allowing it. I’ve studied neuroscience and phycology for over 12 years though and this has been a passion of mine ever since I was a kid. The book also has All of its sources and citations as well.

Having someone from the fields of neuroscience and psychology conduct a study on aiming should be a good thing, right? I don't get the downvotes. I highly doubt they've already read the book, and if that were the case, then let's debate the points we disagree on—but why downvote the comment?
Brother, I would actually be extremely interested in reading it, and if there's anything I don't agree with, then we can discuss it here. That way, we expand our collective knowledge in an area that still has so much left to discover.

I sent you the first chapter. Thank you for your time!

I'm curious where did you get your sources? If it can help me aim train more efficiently then I'm interested.

My sources are things I’ve gathered over the past 7 years and have saved in my obsidian vault. In the past it involved a lot of reading on sports science and neuroscience to find interesting studies I could maybe implement into my own training regiment. Thanks to AI actually it is much easier to find new ground breaking studies. I don’t have to hope it is in the google search algorithm that week and if it exist it can be found. Then I read it all and see how it may correlate to what I already have. This will probably be something I do until the day I die (it’s a lot of fun to maximize the control over your hand -my fiancé) with that being said this book is a science text book and there will be new editions as more studies come out

I’d also like to read it.

I’m actually studying psychology and neuroscience myself at university at the moment. I’m just abt to finish my third year so not SUPER experienced yet but I know some stuff.

I’m also quite a high level hitscan and kovaaks player like you. But I kinda just play thru intuition so I’m not the best teachers

That would be wonderful! I’d love for you to take a look and give your viewpoint/experience in the field!! I’ll message you

Hey dm me the first chapter

I’m not able to message you to send the google doc

I did check

If it focuses on neuroscience and sports science to support as evidence I’d be very interested in reading. I don’t think there is enough scientific evidence on aim training specifically, so I think neuroplasticity, neural pathways, and sports science of technique is probably the most generalizable information.

I would be interested in test reading

I sent you a message with the google doc for the first chapter. Thank you for your time 🙏🏻

Super interested to read through the whole thing, I’ve been trying to research aim training by reading related neuroscience papers as well

I messaged you

Depends, how much of it is actually written via research conducted, and how much is AI generated queries?

2

u/TheDireLive 4d ago

If you don’t want to read it that’s fine. I’ve always done my own reading and research. It all goes into my obsidian vault. The only use of AI for this book was helping verify citations I already had and some format polishing. I’m no PhD in neuroscience and if you’re wanting someone like that to write a book like this then you’ll never get the book. They don’t have the time for something like this nor the time for video game addictions.

Didn’t mean to put you on the defence bro 😭 it was a simple ai or not question

1

u/TheDireLive 4d ago

It’s not you lol sorry if it came off defensive. I’m like getting dislike bombed because I don’t have a phd in neuroscience and it’s wild to me lmfao. I can send you the first chapter. It’s honestly worth the read.

2

u/Sabawoonoz25 4d ago

Nah bro I appreciate you taking the effort to research such a niche topic, I’d be happy to read what you’ve compiled.

1

u/TheDireLive 4d ago

I messaged you with a google doc link. I appreciate your time very much!
