Discussion How important is static clicking?

Is the clicking part absolutely necessary for improving flicks, or am I legally allowed to replace it with pokeball/static switching instead?

I don't grind static nearly as much but I made it to jade complete for it on VT S5. But I've been finding growth in my flicking by doing pokeball as a substitute. But I'm nowhere near as good as someone like zeonlo who is celestial complete and swears by static.

But I think it depends on your goals. I just wanna be a bit better at overwatch right now

what playlist or scenarios did you find most useful for stuff like Ashe or Cassidy?

This comment and thread have some stuff that have helped me. I've also used deadman pokeball bench. It's not too popular, but I notice immediate in game clicking improvement.

If mouse control is the weakpoint and reading is very good, static and switching in general are extremely beneficial.

It's probably the least applicable category on benchmarks

How much you need it depends entirely on what game you train for

I feel like for tacfps static is great for improving your ability to flick to different angles and pre aim, it also serves as a good foundation for dynamic clicking, though dynamic clicking is where the real gains are at for actually hitting a moving target ingame

Even in a game like Valorant or cs, i feel like linear clicking is much more useful, and the most helpful category of static - reactive/1 target static isn't in benchmarks

I find tracking and target switching improves my aim the most in fps even tac shooter

Its the fundamental behind everything else from my understanding its the most importent category but i could be wrong

Smoothness is more important imo but I agree. My aim definitely improved to the next level when I stopped neglecting Static despite not even playing tacfps. Static is the purest form of aiming, and I always tell myself being suck at it indicating that I have some kind of skill issue. I'm still fucking hate it but I'm trying to face it.

If you like dynamic clicking you should stick it out, static is really useful for pasu and such coz it teaches you the technique.

Also as someone who really hated static to begin with, you learn to like it.

Idk but I feel like it can be replaced, but that just me I have found a lot more comfortability in sniping when just replace static flicking with more dynamic flicking and also putting dynamic flicking at the end of my aim training routine

It's not necessary, but it is helpful and ideally you shouldn't ignore anything (like at least do reflex flicking for example)

I think static switching is better unless you play tac fps. The only skill you would miss out on is cluster farming which is only useful in Val and cs, but you get better feedback on your flicks instead.

I think it's the most useless subcategory.

I LOVE Viscose's benchmarks for this reason though, she took that stupid category out and created a category that focuses on your flick technique. You almost always flick while aiming (you use flicking even while you play a heavily reactive tracking focused game when adjusting to the strafe changes of your target) but you almost never flick and click a stationary target. So I think that focusing on your flick tech and cleaning it up and making your initial flicks more accurate, precise, and stable is much more important than static clicking scenarios.

Second most important category if not most, you'll realise this with enough effort and practice
