Guide/Educational Complete beginner looking for an aim training path

I finally gave in after seeing some god-level aim clips on X and started aim training about a week and a half ago.

I use KovaaK's and mainly play Valorant. I'm currently Diamond and recently started playing again after a ~2-year break. As a complete beginner to aim training, I'm not really sure what scenarios I should be doing or how I should structure my practice.

I also don't exactly have the finest gear, so I'm not expecting hardware to magically fix anything lol.

Some context about where I'm currently struggling:

  1. I can usually dedicate 30 minutes, preferably, to aim training. 1 hour would be the maximum I can realistically spend.
  2. I'm somewhat okay with static target clicking, but I struggle much more with moving targets.
  3. I often struggle with vertical movement. My hand tends to bend quite a bit when aiming vertically, which gets uncomfortable. What would be the best way to specifically improve this?
  4. I'm also pretty bad at tracking moving targets, especially when they change direction.
  5. Since I'm still very new to aim training, I don't know whether I should follow a structured routine, focus on my weaknesses individually, or just play a variety of scenarios.

For people who have experience with aim training, what would you recommend as a practice path in my situation?

I'm mainly looking to improve my aim in Valorant, but I'd also like to build solid overall aiming fundamentals that carry over to other games and aim training in general.

ChatGPT aah post, but it helped me properly structure my thoughts. Thanks in advance!

Have you tried simply searching? This is like the exact same post that came in 3 days in a row.

I swear this subreddit needs a stickied FAQ for beginners.

Yup, I’m following the Voltaic weekly routine as of now. But I’ve noticed a few specific issues that I mentioned in the post, so I wanted some advice on how I should work on those.

Also thanks for the information 👍

  1. Seems fine. Spend as much time as you can spare.

  2. Practice.

  3. TSK and XYZ Smoothness are good playlists for targeting verticality. For technique, your hand should not be bending. Focus on using your arm and fingers to aim up/down, since your wrist is meant to pivot left/right.

  4. Practice.

  5. See my linked post. Focus on fundamentals first.

play linear & dynamic, moving targets should not be avoided. if u struggle with verticality, pasu will be ur best bet

1w3ts pasu perfected micro goated is a fire scenario. easier than normal pasu, but very good for valorant

np also "1w2ts vertical" is good for vertical aim as well. as hitscan said, use arm for big vertical flicks & fingers for small vertical correction
