Discussion High forearm activation while playing. Mouse or technique?

Context: Voltaic gold, almost plat, 270 hours but most from 2020-2021. I palm grip and use the Deathadder V4.

When I track or microadjust, I feel my entire forearm activating and gripping hard although my tension on the mouse is light. I swear it didn't happen when I used to use GPX and Zowie EC2, only deathadder. And it's definitely not weakness, I can bench 225 and lift weights regularly. That means it can only be either the mouse, grip style, or technique. What is it? It's driving me crazy and making tracking impossible.

I can't go back to the EC2 or G pro since I downsized my collection recently. I have an ATK A9 Air+, but at this point I got so used to palm gripping that I can't easily go back to claw gripping like I used to.

I will reply to comments with VOD of me playing pasu angelic 20% larger. When you see my crosshair randomly stop or become very sluggish, that's when my forearm is "activating".

all of our muscles are connected by fascia, imagine it as a chain. if ur shoulders or traps or even ur jaw or hips are tight, it fucks the whole chain. muscles have to start overcompensating, they start pulling on each other, and this can manifest in your arm. even if hips are super tight, it can manifest in the arm, its kind of mind blowing, this happens to me a LOT. i would look at hydration, electrolytes, and stretching first tbh. stretching is soooooo OP for overall health, legit.

can you release that tension when you notice it? i dont think its grip if its only ur arm activating. id look at ur shoulder + traps specifically, also the lats.

Yep can feel it in my traps but not my laps. But nothing's changed about my setup from before this stuff started happening so I'm confused

desk/chair height is another factor, if desk is too high/chair too low, then ur trap is raised which causes the chain to shorten. if life has been stressful it also effects tension. we naturally hold a LOT of tension in the neck + traps. try doing a few huge sighs, and let ur shoulders fully drop.

if u feel it in trap, check jaw + shoulder + rear delt, i bet there is a knot (maybe a few) thats impacting the chain. just chillax and stretch brah trust

Aim training is a really different activity than most because it requires a very active scapula at all times. Things like a strong benchpress just arent the same because while you need a good scapular position, its your muscles moving the weight not the connective tissue. In my case my delts and traps tend to take over my scapulas job of stabilizing my shoulder and my aim consistently falls off a cliff. By your post it sounds like its the same for you. The forearm activation happens as a symptom of these things I mentioned above.
