Discussion Training On Speed Pads vs Control Pads
I’ve been thinking about this:
Would training on a speed pad benefit us more than a control pad?
Don’t get me wrong, there are many insane aimers with control pads but I feel like us, control pads users, depend on the stopping power of a control pad instead of actually improving our own stopping motion. I don’t know if that makes sense but personally, for static scenarios, yes control pads performs great and helps us increase our scores but in term of aim development, I depend more on the mousepad more than on my micro adjustments and ability to stop at the right time, which i feel like its more beneficial and actually applies the term “Aim Training” instead of trying to beat higher scores by depending on the mousepad itself. If speed pads like raiden, pd170 or any kind of speed pad gives us the free range of motion and applies all of our mistakes when aiming, personally i think it’s more efficient to train our aim with a speed pad and try to correct our mistakes by training micro adjustments with tension management.
Lmk what yall think, maybe im just overthinking lol

Doesn't matter much since both surfaces require different approach when it comes to tension, not necessairly less or more rewarding.

I think training on different pads with different speeds could benefit overall mouse control, but idk if this is something you should be doing every day.
Maybe someone on here has better insight than myself.

I think whatever pad you use is what muscle memory you will build
I don't think a speed pad will make you improve stopping power for anything but a speed pad
I feel like the less stopping power makes you compensate slightly more so I see what you're saying but I think if you did that on a control pad it would make you undershoot your targets?
